1million millimetres which is 1000km
1000 millis = 1 meter
1 million millis = 1000 meters = 1km
1 billion millis = 1000km.

Correct me if I'm wrong

No, Sock, you are wrong. Sky is right. 1000km is 1,000,000,000mm otherwise referred to as one billion mm.

Difficult to say it is glass or aluminium, but the construction behind it is massive, looks really strong which is also needed at such height. By the way, on the second pic the cables can be seen that were used for jacking.

It is definitely metal. Not glass.
The cables are most likely stabilizing wires and therfore permanent part of the structure.

also:

1 billion (long scale) = 1 milliard (short scale) = 1,000,000,000
1 trillion (long scale) = 1 billion (short scale) = 1,000,000,000,000

Great picture updates. The Burj looks a lot better with the spire on imo, and it looked pretty good before that already.

Spire cladding looks like it is from alluminum panels with holes and not glass.
I agree that it looks like aluminum. Perhaps because it's lighter than glass and doesn't have to be cleaned?

They have said since the beginning that the cladding of the top of the steel section where it transits into the pinnacle, will be of aluminum.

It's aliminum, isn't it? The openings like pinholes show us that the panels are metal and probably aliminum.

question about Burj Dubai Lake

What is the additional boy of water near one corner of the main lake? It looks like a square, with one curved edge, and is painted in the same light blue colour of the main lake. It's located close to the pointed corner of the larger annex building as seen in the podium shots.

Thank you

Great pictures out here. I wonder how is it to watch the city from the last floor. A lot of adrenalin .
I think next year I am going to see it closely. It surely deserves a visit.

btw: what is the last floor? hotel or offices?

What's happening with the elevators ?

Does anyone know how work is going inside on the elevators ? We just see that some of the external construction lifts are gone, but from level 112 and up, these are still there.

The last article was saw posted was almost a year ago.

Thanks
