Those picture just don't seem real to me. What is it about the cladding, that makes this building seem 3D?

Now this might sound crazy but I reckon the building might actually be 3D... would be rather odd if it wasn't don't you think?! Jesus

Wow...never thought I'd read that about the architecture in Dubai. So what city has the best architecture for your?

The lake makes the whole design perfect.

Cladding question

For the 2700 panels still to be installed - does this include the additional panels needed on the East Annex building - the one that has several more floors being added to it ?

Is a schedule available as to when all cladding on the tower is expected to be finished ?

Thank you

Questions - asking for answers

Various questions -

How is the music delivered to the fountain -- out in the open, or broadcast on a radio frequency ? Is there a specified viewing area with the music ?

Is there a planned schedule for the fountain ?

How can they run the fountain with heavy construction still going on in the area - East Annex building ?

Why are additional floors being built on the East Annex at this point in time - so late in the construction process for the BD ?

Thank you

What's the water capacity of the BD Lake in liters ?

it is my belief that the fountain's modeled after the fountain in Las Vegas. the fountain in Vegas uses loud outdoor speakers integrated into the edge of the fountain, (i.e. in the columns that hold the outdoor lamp posts lining the edge of the lake)
the fountain is its own entity, it has its own power supply and resources so testing can go on before the tower is finished. i read testing starts in march but we'll see.

I saw it too very nice
I think that answered part of my question... after this test, when they expect to fire up?

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...35275&page=347 is the other BD thread on this site, in the UAE Section (saves about 3 clicks)

The lake is now about 4' (1.2m) deep, it was about 1' (0.3m) last Thursday when I was there last

Day off for me tomorrow, so might head down there for some more pics...
