I think the cladding is not really big problem , they can finish it within a month or two, biggest problem is the infrastructure (roads, landscaping , etc..) around the Burj, it takes more time.

These projects already ON HOLD in the Burj area:

M Towers
Burj Park III
Burj Park V
18 Burj Dubai Boulevard
Burj Place
The Grand Boulevard

We dont know the future , more fountain ,bigger lake or just keep the holes ?

Emaar has to decide soon what they want with those projects.
If the projects that take time are on hold, Imre, then for what soft opening are we talking about? September is optimistic in that case.

Their latest picture update is from 31/12/2008 and quotes a height of 799 meters, which is also what we were saying. Beats big time Emaar's site for the tower and their "frequent" updates.
Thanks for the link Altin. Great site - well laid out. Nice set of shots too.

Here is a shot from Dennis IIRC showing the same shots along with some early ones not on the site (I wish they were all there)

On another note this is the 30th BD thread not counting the threads in the UAE section. There is 1213 pages total in the 29 threads before this one - so this is the 2013th page.

This is a really interesting question...
On hold projects like The Grand Boulevard it might cause delay of Grand opening of Burj Dubai?

That fountain is huge! Looks like it's almost half the length of the mall...

Details about entrance structures ?

Are there any layouts or details available about the three oval-shape structures for the entrances ? These appear to be several levels high, and quite wide - at least 25m.

Where is the loading dock that trucks will use to bring food and materials into the building ?

Which area on the ground is being used for staging and assembly of cladding structures and other equipment that will be lifted by crane ?

There appear to be several accesses beside the main entrance on the concourse office entrance - (side facing fountain) - what are these ?

Thanks

Get into the record book again - construction lift

The lift up top that starts at level 159 and goes up to what looks like tier21 would be the highest lift in the world - and it's there now for everyone to see.

It shows in pictures posted the last two or three days.

It is higher than any of the elevators that have been described here for this building - unless the one shown on Fury's diagrams called BS-4 spire hoist is higher.

Once the cranes come off. there won't be that much more to see outside - so we need to learn more about what is going on inside the building.

Hi Library.

1 - Here is some renders of the entrances and a large print of the Ground level showing its entrance.

2 - I agree with Altin that the docks must be underground. Here are large prints of B1 and B2 parking layouts - perhaps you can pick out the docks from them.

3 - The crane is on the side of the structure above podium zone A so they must be staging there.

4 - I'm not sure what the extra entrances are for exactly. Perhaps they are just entrances from different landscaped areas.

Hope this helps.
