Ahh. Forgot to mention it in this thread.

To see my test video in HD, you actually need to go it on YouTube, and then hit the "Watch in HD" link. It's much better in HD, but of course a little jerky. I think I'll pop down tomorrow with a tripod.

Amazing Lego work on Burj Dubai! I heart Lego! I am wondering if they are planning to install Lego Burj Dubai at any of Legoland or they're planning to open other one in Dubai? I would love to see it in person.

Hi all.

Here is another lego model at CS last year IIRC. It is more asthetically correct with the entrances and setbacks. Not taking anything away from the other model - both are great pieces of work.
Shots by Imre and another.
I think I heard it was destined for Legoland.

it is impressive to build it on that scale, let alone such a large scale

My Lego Burj Dubai

I have done as much as I can (I am making it from my own pieces, which, although I have a lot of them, I have a limited amount)
What it would look like looking down from the very top!

By mattbennett, shot with Canon PowerShot A460 at 2009-02-22

the whole tower

Having a model like this, I have really got a grasp of the proportions. It's not as good as seeing the real thing, but it is still pretty impressive.
If there is anyone who lives in Christchurch, New Zealand, I will show it off some time.

It certainly looks better in your Photoshop version, than it does in reality. I don't think they'll drain and repainted it though just because we think it looks better.

We all have different taste of what we consider "good looking". I like the non-photoshopped version. The two shades of blue may prove better looking after the construction process.

The problem with the lake is as mentioned by a forumer, i don't know by whom. That it doesn't look like water, it looks more like a colorsurface. The best would be somethings that looks like the chanels in the Madinat Jumeirah!

No, please no more green water. We have enough of it in Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Islands and other places. Plus that water is natural sea water which can't be used in Burj Dubai lake, due to the fountain's requirement of clean fresh water.

I do agree though that a darker coloured bottom would have been much better.

Ok your point about clean fresh water for the fountain is good AltinD! Mhhh but do you guys really think that the lake is now finished, i mean in renders AND models the lake has a totally other shape than the one that we have now, or is it just me?

No, the lake is NOT finished. There are still sections to be completed in front of Burj Dubai and on the opposite side, in front of The Residences.
