Dubai: The Burj Dubai, the world's tallest tower, which is set to open next September, is in the final stages of construction.

Engineers are completing the top spire which will determine the final height of the project, and interiors are also on a fast track.

"will determine the final height of the project" : I dont understand this, the final height (we know) months ago is 818m. The spire (about height) is complete. Or not? Imre (?)

It's just a newspaper article, nothing to think much about it.

If they did, we will probably see a cleaning device within the next days/week...if not cleaning is gonna take a while

looks like 1 of those floors on the model would be about 4/5 on the real building. bare that in mind when u build it.

thanks But it is a little bit complicated because i don't know the height of the first 3 levels of the building and also the height of the spire
In my model 1 floor is over 4 sm.

just from looking at yours, i would say every 3 of your levels would be a tier set back. it would look roughly accurate. But they do elongate the higher up you go. so you may have to do a tier at level 3, 6 and 9. then 12.5, 16, 19.5. then 23.5, 27.5 and 31.5. so it goes up in 3 sets of, "3 - 3.5 - 4" does that make sense? lol

Good Luck With The Cleaning & The Attitudes

Hopefully they have some serious industrial strength system for cleaning out that sand...just knowing what it takes to keep a pool in Phoenix clean after our major dust storms takes a lot of work. I can't imagine tackling something that size..and actual sand is a lot harder to get off the bottom than just dust, dirt and leaves.

So, anyways, why is everybody so full of attitude and so nasty to each other on this web site including some of the moderators?

I've participated in a number bulletin board websites on various topics and have a love of skyscrappers..grew up with them and long history and work experience in construction but since top out this place is just not much fun any longer...comments are slapped as 'worthless' many things are not responded to and there are all these off topic discussions...and people are just plain mean.

I will keep watching the photos for progress on the building but the rest of this has gotten pretty sour.

There is so much that could be discussed about the MANY other aspects of this project including interiors, electrical, HVAC, lighting, the lift systems etc. I mean do we have to state our qualifications before our comments are respected?

Good luck with it all, but I'm gonna hang my hard hat someplace else until this gets a tad more civilized.

Eehhh, what are you referring to? The height of Burj Dubai? Why not write two more words if you got a question.

818m will stand as a record for quite a few years I'm sure

As things are progressing, at least for a decade.
