Are you saying you'll be sharing scans of your new book on eMule, Fury? :-)

it means, if i was to stay in the topmost floor of the building n forgot my car key..... my girlfriend can drop the key, call me to confirm... and we can have a little love talk.... and i disconnect...spot n catch the key. Amasing advantage

Yep. Only the key would have such speed it would most likely kill You...

Of course, the shape of the building would meant that she would have to throw it in a balistic trajectory to avoid the lower (wider) parts of the building.

Come on, is it clear?

I see that it is still very dirty, as long as I see those pictures from Imre.

Cheers!

Depends on the material.
If you drop a cotton perhaps takes hours and even will fall far away from the building.

If you drop an apple perhaps it will touch the ground :

a) if an apple will fall with constant speed of 9,81 m/s, meaning it will touch the ground within 83,4 seconds

b) But we have to put an acceleration speed. If the acceleration is 10 metes per second aka 10 m/s^2, it will touch the ground... please calculate it for me....

LOL

Cheers!

Ignoring friction:
x(t)=x(0)+v0(t)+1/2 gt^2
818=0+0+1/2 gt^2
1636/9.8 = t^2
t=12.92

about 13 seconds, makes sense, but less impressive than 84

Speed will be:
mgh potential will become 1/2 mv^2 in kinetic energie
9.8*818 = 1/2v^2
16032 = v^2
v=126 ms^-1
or *3.6 for km/h = 455 km/h
Which is unreal, I guess the friction will break even with g at about 180 km/h

so, the time to fall will also be a bit more. Only one way to find out !

what kind of music will be played?
somehow i doubt contemporary music (i.e. chris brown, TI lady gaga, etc.)
but Andre Botticelli, Celenie Dion, Frank Senatra, or Traditional Arab music seems more logical.

Yeah, a Criss Brown / Rihanna duet will be the perfect choice ...

yes, and your hand would look like a cow hidden in a wooden tool shed, during a tornado, grade 5.

the terminal velocity is about 56m/s, the acceleration is about 10m/s^2, so it will be 17 seconds going down, depending on friction, temperature and other things. but around 17sec would be a safe guess. still catching something travelling at 200km/h may not be exactly called a brilliant idea

Michael Jackson - "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough." Since that seems to be Dubai's philosophy anyways.

I couldnt believe it at first when I saw the gear laying around the shore, like pumps and hoses. But they are actually cleaning the lake with normal vacuum cleaners for pools......

Incredible.

Sitting on small paddle boats they are working forever with these devices which are usually used on small swimming pools

Didnt have my camera with me unfortunately, but I hope Gerald, Imre, OTR or 234sale were there today to capture this

Does they have in Las Vegas with the Bellagio fountains also problems with the dust? Las Vegas is also in a desert (but maybe its stone desert so not so much dust). But how they clean the lake in front of Bellagio?

Possibly same problems, but Bellagio fountain is not nearly that size

After working all day they just managed to clean a small fraction of the lake. A very small fraction.
