^the 3 beacon lights reach 600mm above pinnacles top, thus 818.6m, so if it does skrink 600mm, then i guess its back to exactly 818m ;-)

skymyhusband is correct. the lev101 skybridge on SWFC is 474m /1555ft above ground. this is of course indoor.
CN Towers skydeck is 445m/1460ft high and is a tiny indoor pod.
Burj Dubais lev124 ob deck will be 442m/1450ft high and will be indoor AND outdoor! the roof of lev11 tier will be the outdoor viewing area.
Also not to forget the roof top ampitheater of guangzhous tv tower which is 440-450m high
see diagram
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3013/...00367e42_o.jpg
also Tokyos new skytree will have ob deck at 435m.

Personally, if i had control of some decisions, i would have gone with the Tier 12, 500m+ Indoor and outdoor observation deck. That would truely make it the highest.

It really doesn't make any difference from that height to have an observation deck... The higher you go, the less you see once you're above a certain height.

Yup. The Burj Dubai observatory deck isn't near the top of the tower, but at lv 124 / 442m

yes, i concur with the higher ob deck doesnt mean it will be better. burj dubais 442m is high enough. any higher and things get too small to see or the dust will create a fog effect.
ive always thought 300m is a perfect height to view from.

Don't be so pessimistic. The pollution would be gone in one day, besides during summer the skies are clear cause wind is blown from the Pacific not from inland.

Just coming back from Dubai Mall, had a look at the lake and fountain. These poor guys are still cleaning with their home pool hoovers sitting on provisional rafts and I dont see much of a progress
I dont intend to bash or so, these guys are working diligently and doing an awesome job! But the equipment they were provided with is just ridiculous.

By now the previously cleaned areas are covered in sand again, appearently due to currents in the lake. And yet there are roughly 70% left which havent even seen the hoover so far. It will be a forever on-going job to keep this lake clean, even if they had better equipment. But what is going on now shows helplessness and is embarassing IMO.

As I said, dont mean to bash, but thats how I see it...

Edit: Since I didnt take my camera, here a pic from gerald in order to show how the lake is being cleaned..........

Sure, but I dont think the fountain pumps would like that. Maybe they use water from a separate, clean source... but then again I'd assume they would have designed the lake to be a little bit more natural.
