I found a way to fake HDR. It does pretty damn good. http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/2257529395/

Edit: While fooling around I also found that having Layer 2 set to Either Overlay, Soft Light, Hard Light, Vivid Light, and the 3rd Layer set to Overlay, it's almost perfect HDR. Does depend on photo quality and lighting though.

Examples VVV (Credit to Imre of course)

as long as they get eager workers to sweep the lake and get paid.. here in sydney we have a big harbour bridge, you might of heard of, there are full times painters on it, when they finish that start again.takes a few years.
anway
A sand storm of that magnitude does not happen more then twice a year or something.

However most of the sand dumped on the lake was actually from the surrounding (still) barren areas and construction sites so as soon as they will be done with, the amount of sand will be way less.

I remember years ago on the highway near the area of now days Dubai Marina, used to be the most polluted in sand during the sandstorms, with small sand dunes creating on the road. Now days that the area is urbanized and build upon, it does not happen anymore.

I think the same... burj dubai lake does not have a automatic cleaning system, during the night, to clean up the lake itself?

that lake cleaning is totally pointless, another sandstorm just arrived now.

Dubai: North-westerly shamal winds are expected to push dust into the atmosphere on Thursday, but the sandstorm will be less severe than the one that affected Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries on Tuesday.

Maybe you need one of these type machines to go out after a sandstorm:

But with a giant vacuum. Since the lake is not very deep, you could adapt a tractor. This would also allow for the large quantities of sand to be carried away by the vehicle. Perhaps the ramp close to the address could be the access point?

Thats exactly what I was thinking and I still believe they got something like that "in the pipeline", which is just not ready or delivered yet.

Took some pics today, also of these poor guys paddling on their home-made rafts doing their very best to clean the lake. Will post them tonight after work.

He was talking about using a modified Zamboni to clean the sand out of the lake, not clean the building! Try reading the discussion before you speak!

Go to any higher end home (for sure in America) that has a pool and you'll see what we are talking about.

I agree with the comment about there being less of a sand problem once nearby construction is complete.

The "lake" in it's current design just completely sucks. It should look like the water in the Marina and screw the fountains. Are they trying to make this place look like Las Vegas???

Burj Dubai Video

Hi all burj dubai fans !

Have you seen my video about Burj Dubai available on youtube since june 2008? Watch it :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3B2KRj844w
Now I try to do a better video with more more details of construction. You can help me to do my video. I just start and i lack many information about the construction's beginning. Particulary, I lack the plan of the raft level (lower level at -15.2m).
So if you have any plans of construction, please post it or send it on my mailbox : [email protected]

PS : I m french so my english could be a little uncorrect.
I don't know how to insert personal pictures about Burj Dubai, anyone can help me?

Well why don't you make us a Burj Complex done right? Judging by your authoritative tone you must have extensive experience perfectly executing 20 billion dollar developments.

Do tell, where's your most recent work located, so we can marvel at your brilliance?
