Ah, OK. I really only look at this thread--so that'd be why I didn't get it.

I wonder if the sand will interfere with the fountain electronics/functionality. I suppose not if water doesn't, but hopefully they took into account things like intake getting clogged from the sand.

BTW, those pictures are awesome. Love the quality...

Is it true that Burj Dubai fountain will rise up to 200 meters in the air?

I think the sand may cause big problems in the control valves and pumps since they have very close tolerances.

Some one showed me a packet of tobacco with a pictorial health warning stating "Smoking is highly addictive. Don't start". Attached is a picture of a syringe which at first I thought was a photo of Burj Dubai. Indeed BD does look like a giant syringe, ready to inject skyscraperaddiction in to any one who sees it.

Fountains start to look really great, day by day; probably the grand opening should be approaching...

Of course fountains will be more impressive when the Burj Dubai is complete; imagine those photos above (at night) when BD is litted up complete.

Hi. I'm new here. I agree with most of you, Dubai is a great city if you want to experience a vacation of new and high-end architectures but to live in this city is a different talk. I invite you all if you want to see small cities with great nature view, just visit the Philippine cities and places and we are ready to welcome your comments to each of our cities. God bless you.

Let's hope they designed for this, then!

Anyway, I really want to see it hit 500 feet...

Guys, what's with the German tags all over the place? Still some envy they lost both world wars in the 20th century?
