The Burj is looking SICK...I can't believe it's going up another 200m. It's like an optical illusion.

No, actually, it's pretty funny. What's pathetic is the situation that the joke is mocking.

Please lets not turn this thread into a discussion of whether or not a little jab at Muslims was funny or not. The people who think it was won't change their mind and the people who didn't won't change their mind. It is very much so off topic.

Yeah you're probably right. Well in my personal attempt to get the thread back on topic I'm happy to see all the wings look like they're finished. It's also been said alot but this building doesn't look too skinny like I thought it would turn out to be.

question again,BDi im hoping anyways is going to have a massive parking complex somewhere , considering its a massive tower PLUS a huge mall right beside it.
are they planning to do just one major parking structure or two smaller ones for each , and plus above ground or below ground?

Burj Dubai will have a parking complex below ground, but not directly under the tower; sort of under the extensions at the bottom. The mall will afaik also have under-ground parking right under it. Only 10.000 places is I am not mistaken.

Yes, I believe that it will be noticeable. It is in the rendering:

You can clearly see the 2 observation deck levels being higher than the surrounding floors.

Also, I believe someone mentioned a few days ago that they would like to see the concrete section of the structure completely finished (wings and all), and let the cladding catch up before the steel structure is started. It seems that this is in fact what they are doing.

It won't be super noticeable. Some of the cladded floors have already been different heights. Have you noticed them?

It doesn't bother me. Sure it's noticeable to the trained eye, but I really don't think it detracts much (if anything) from the overall appearance of the tower.

no , i looked at the big render. and i used paint and the upper floors aren't much bigger. it's just the bottom frame that's a little bigger
