Only taipei 101 has over than 500 meters. Only 1 completed tower in the world.

All other towers are under construction or planned, but with this crisis they probably will never get build. And if they eventually bet build, them, they will stay empty. I mean, Saudi Arabia doesn't have the economy to support skyscrapers, it is a poor small country.

Yeah, i was going to say, they are in the top 30 wealthiest, by GDP anyway. Maybe they aren't as big a destination as Dubai but they surely have the economy to support a few 'scrapers.

Other than the 2 TV tower you mentioned, there is no other "Megatall" under construction and most of the ones that are proposed are on hold or at least rumored to be. I personally think we need to wait and create the category one we have at least several (5+/-) under construction. And I don't count TV towers, only buildings.

I just read yesterday on wikipedia that BD is topped out (since January already), and i was in fact quite surprised , i certainly didn't expect this happen so fast ...
Since it's topped out now, I think it's definitely great but also in a way it's sad because there won't be any new excitement about a new WTB for a long time to come, since Nakheel Tower has apparently been postponed due to the financial crisis (i hope i'm right on that, at least that's what it says on Wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakheel_Tower ) ...so BD will have the top spot for at least for 10 more years, and certainly it's a worthwhile "King" of all skyscrapers, and also buildings for that matter: (photo by Joi from Flickr):

Does anyone know how many buildings there are exactly in Dubai now that are over 300m (topped out or not)? I'm going there in a couple of weeks, would be nice to know...I count 8 - Burj Dubai, Address, Emirates towers, Almas tower, Burj Al Arab, Rose hotel, Index. I know HHHR and Al Attar are close...

I've been doing some looking around in I certainly can't find 10 under construction, can you please list them? Also there may be 25 planned but my feeling is only a few of them will actually get built.
