I am very sure they forgot about that

As far as I know the windows have never been cleaned yet - it's a construction site with lots of dirt and dust, so why bother. When it's finished the cleaning will start and never finish...

Just like the lake

Took quite some pics today, will upload them tonight

@234sale
I can imagine the problems with aligning the pics for stitching... they'd have to be perfectly vertical, all in one line and still the effects of optical distortion would be hard to handle. I also tried it before and messed up (this is why I have to pay great respect to gerald for being able to make it!)

The horizontal panorama is great though! (still using Paint?)

Hehehe ...I've been out taking pictures all day

The weather today indeed is perfect for distant shots. Been to The Lagoons, Ras Al Khor, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach and at Dubai Mall for lunch.

I'll upload the best pics tonight

Yep its a lighting rod all right, in fact it probably protects many buildings around it as its so tall.

When it was being hit I could hear the surge arrestors activating, Almost like a lazer canon discharging.

It doesnt just need a road installed at the top, the building is designed with all environmental factors in mind.

Well then I guess we generally have enough pics of Burj Dubai. Hence, sorry for posting mine since they dont show anything new due to the slow progress of the cladding.

I didnt know the vid and found it entertaining, although I've seen BD getting struck by lightning several times

Honestly, you can be so crabby sometimes. If you don't want to watch it, just scroll over it like I did.

DUH guys, I was continuing the discussion and referring to the lazy-arse asking if there was a lightning rod.

So let me re-phrase it for you:

Guy: I hope they have a lightning rod in the Burj because being that tall would be definitely hit by lightning.

Me: Haven't you seen countless of pictures and videos of the Burj Dubai getting hit by lightning, posted here continuously, the last just a few pages earlier? So yeah, there's one.

EDIT: sundrop74, you're a newbie here so don't talk to me about pictures of Burj Dubai

That shot taken from Business Bay is incredible!
Really gives you a sense of scale.
Thank you Desert River.

years ago when I saw the renders of this and it was just a 'vision' I wasnt too sure about it.

Now that its topped-out I'll gladly admit I was wrong. What a phenominal construction!

The only reason harddisk sizes keep on getting bigger is because Imre keeps filling them, I'm going to get you a T-shirt with that slogan on
