Hi all.

Cul - it's just the angle of the shot. The second larger wing of tier 22 is behind the first.

The steel work is definately done.

Great shots Imre.

That banner that they have hanging over five floors is hanging so high, that no one can see what it is and what it says.

RE: The Lightning Protection System

See Pix from inside the Spire on Page 854)

So unless the whole pipe of the spire is used to carry the juice from lightning strikes to earth one of the wires behind the ladder on the left must be the ground wire from a lightning rod on top. The black one looks like the electrical feed to the aircraft warning lights so that leaves the white wire...but it looks like a coax telecommunications, etc.

From the base of the spire on down it sounds like they are using the building rebar to earth lighting surges. See:

Fantastic shots Imre and Gerald.

Gerald that second picture is stunning!
It's great that the steel work is complete now, the tower finally has proper proportions at the top.

As Altin said, bring on the glass!

3 photo's using the shift on my TS-E 45mm stitched together. Didn't quite come out right, as you can see the bands from the slightly different exposures.

I really need to invest in a copy of Photoshop.

/edit
Hmm. Perhaps embedding a 3707x9056 image directly in the post isn't such a good idea

It says 'Emaar' (Burj Dubai's developer) and shows Emaar's logo.
