Also, any news or rumours about when the BD's first tenants will be able to move in?
cladding pace hase actually been increasing again recently, last fotos show a huge step upwards, but seriously, you have to take into the account that these panels are being hoisted up now well over 700 METERS!!!!!!!! thats gotta count for something.

SuperTrooper Thanx Imre, it's like good old times again when every morning started with an awesome update and a cup of steamy columbian black

Hi 234.

That area of tier 20 from that angle has had a temp. stairway covered in the green canvas (that turned brown in the sun). The stairwell is now removed revealing the piece of cladding. So not sure if it is new but for sure, previously hidden.

Great shots guys. The cladding does seem to be moving along at a faster pace.

Hey Cul. I haven't been here since the slab - but with all the digging around for any and all info / pics I've done it feels like I have. I am as interested in the early work as any other part of the project as I'm sure everyone knows - even Altin and Henrik - ahem .....

The edge of the decking on the upper steel floors has a very distinctive sawtooth edge where there are connection points for the cladding, while down below on the slab edges of the concrete floors we only see smaller connection points for the cladding. What's with that?

It has been bugging me for a long time so I thought I'd ask.

The only thing I could come up with is that those high upper tiers will not have HVAC so those spaces behind the cladding will allow air movement between floors behind the curtain wall, while down below each floor is conditioned space so they are buttoning the cladding up tight against the slabs and sealing it to contain conditioned air.

Anybody?

I remember wondering if this thing would ever actually be built.

I think I joined right when the earthworks was wrapping up. Got to see the first shots that were posted when the slab was being poured and walked on. Amazing how time flies.

That was actually a net and it didn't change color, it just got dirty and covered in sand/dust. Hose it off and it will turn green again.

You mean the last picture (4th) I assume? That was taken through the glas dome at fashion catwalk (Dubai Mall) with 170mm focal length.
