I think that few livecams installed on top of this building could be very good idea :-)

if i were designing the Burj pinnacle i would have put the lights on the inside of the spire, with holes so that the lights could shine through. Makes it abit more sightly imo.

By the way: The lake is turning greener day by day, yesterday the water looked like grass.

All I've been trying to say all along and feel Desert Diver's pics explain it best is a lake should look this colour:

OMG is it really that green? They should use more chemicals or better clening equipment like robots or something... Those few workers in their rubber boats simply cant do the job right.

Maybe the circulating and filtring machineries have broken down or are being replaced.

Ok, maybe. But what about the sediment? They obviously never expected it to be such a severe issue. Painting it in light blue was really stupid, wasnt it. I do not see the necessary machinery to be set up in order to clean this lake.

As I said many times before: Cleaning it with those selfmade styrofoam-rafts and home pool cleaners is just ridiculous and embarassing. Build the tallest scraper in the world and then dont be able to clean the pool in front of it...

Still, credit to the workers doing their best to get rid of the sand.

So this is what showers us when we get soaked by the fountain.

Lets hope it does not have mystery powers or something that turns us all into something like The Incredible Hulk

Owww that's a horrible thought! After thinking about how nice it must be. Maybe if it did turn people into the Incredible Hulk you could recruit them to clear the pool double quick!

Talk about a royal screw up! The lake is becoming a swamp already. Hopefully the engineering for the building is better than the engineering for the lake.

Yes, I notice that in the pic at the previous page.

Why does it happen? Natural change or intentionally they change the color?

Cheers!

Obviously for some reasons the water is not recirculated. Maybe a plant failure, maybe something else.

I'm guessing the colour of the lake is not where you wanted to see the greenery.

The green colour is caused by algae, one the simplest lifeforms on the planet. A single celled (usually) plant that lives in water and just uses sunlight, water and a few other trace nutrients to divide. It's growth especially in the tropics, is prolific, just ask anybody who has a swimming pool in a hot climate. Controling it is usually done with chlorine. Apparently the designers of the Burj Dubai complex either overlooked that or, more likely the water treatment part of the complex isn't finished yet.
