Thanks Fury! I really appreciate your great explanation. I can see you love this stuff! I agree with everything... Except perhaps for the spire proportions. I still think that the setback on top of tier 24 is too big... Clearly they are able to get away with it though, it's a gorgeous building!

And yes Cull, your drawings are great! The forum wouldn't be the same without them. Wish I had the time to do something like that. I still remember the first drawing you did of the Burj, it reminded me of the first time I saw the opening sequence of the first Star Wars movie (Episode 4) with the spaceship (star destroyer) that seemed like it would never end.

Hi christos.

The dark areas are grating in places where there is no solid floor.

Just in the process of uploading another panorama now. This one's very different though - simple panorama from Dubai Festival City. Taken a couple of weeks ago (forgot I'd done this one).

Nowhere near as good quality (crappy light/air quality) as the last, but thought I might as well share it. It'll be 30 minutes or so from the time of this post before it's fully uploaded. Original image is 40,000 x 5,000 pixels.

Don't think I set the panoramic projection right for this one

Gerald how you managed to zoomed it far? I am talking about this photo:

Because in the above site, the zoom is not too far like the photo...

Not sure what you mean Christos? The panorama is made up from 15 individual photo's (each of 21MP) stitched together, hence why you can zoom in to see so much detail.

Rick - all shots for that one taken within a 2 minute window.

One more uploading now. I think I might have posted a small version of this a few weeks ago, here's all 380,000,000 pixels of it (you'll need to scroll to see the full width). Annoyingly, I got a bit of dust on the sensor when changing lenses, which kind of ruins it, but it's not too bad.

Won't be fully uploaded for about another hour.
