Few print-screen photos from the new video above:

That video is great one, like the previous from that guy...

Hi Nomadd.

That would be a good solution. The bolts could be taken out and the beacon would still be safe from falling. As I posted before the swivel could be up on the back of the beacon but that would make the flanges a bit pointless.

On another note ...

The longer vid from the top of the pinnacle has a good view from lower down.

Here is a screenshot.

We are looking down on the top of the steelwork that has been up since before the pinnacle/spire jacking started. It is the terrace of tier 24 that is the top of tier 23's larger wing. The shot (vid) is taken from the terrace of tier 27 that is the top of tier 26's only small wing (the highest wing of the spire - above this is the 4 circular tiers of the pinnacle). In the lower right of the screenshot we can see part of the railing of the terrace of tier 25 that is the top of a wing of tier 24.

Here is a print showing the poop. Click it for larger.

The terrace of tier 24 (which is the same size as those of tiers 22 and 23 as well) is fairly large being 739.3 meters above the ground (level). Approx 6 m. long by 7 m. wide.

You know your stuff

Thank you for your insight! I was expecting an observation deck above 700 metres. That would be amazing.

What will then be the floors in the 17th and 18th tiers (from floor 155 to 162 -main roof)?

What about between the 19th and the 24th tier? What will be there?

tier24s roof (7mx6m) is about size of big bedroom? cool
I wouldn't mind having a T0 room there

Presuming that last elevator-accessible floor is the 162th, from there to top... stairs only? or any kind of smaller elevator until the 24th tier?

Regards!

Hi Cul.

The roof is an interesting question. There are numerous heights that could be considered the "roof". For these purposes all heights are the top of the level/section/tier (actually the floor or start of the next level/section/tier).
1 - Level 154 - Highest occupied level - 579.3 m.
2 - Level 160 Mezz. 3 - Highest named level - 630.5 m.
3 - Tier 19 - Named Roof 1 - 662.5 m.
4 - Tier 20 - Named Roof 2 - 681.7 m.
5 - Tier 21 - Named Roof 3 - 700.9 m (the plans show as one of the uses for this tier as "roof of top occupied floor" - misprint - ?).
6 - Tier 22 - Named Roof 4 / Spire 1 - 720.1 m.
7 - Tier 26 - Top of its only wing is tier 27 terrace - The highest terrace - 768.1 m.
8 - Tier 30 - Top of the structure - The top "platform" - 818.0 m.
Personally I call the roof tier 22 as it is named roof 4 in the plans - 720.1 m.

On another note, something just occurred to me about the top platform as it was constructed. Since we can't go up there and measure ourselves ( and I don't see why the frick not ! - ) it is possible the floor with the hatch that is over a meter down from the top of the 1.2 m. dia. pipe is at 818.0 m.
The original (last revision) plan for the top platform had the floor at 818.0 with a 1.1m. high railing around it. I had assumed in this latest revision the top of tier 30 was still at 818.0 and they welded a floor lower down inside the pipe instead of putting the planned top platform on top of it.
That is most likely the case but it is possible they made the pipe longer so the floor is at 818.0 and the sides which are now the "railing" are at 819.something as it was going to be with the previously planned top platform.

Hi Ricardo.

The highest elevator starts at level 160 and goes up into tier 18 - I can't tell to what section from what I have.

As for your other questions here is the first 5 (of 12) pages of my plan for reference.

Wow!!! Thank you so much!! One of the best informative posts I've seen here around. I'll save these pictures to contemplate, if you don't mind.

Being a communications technician sitting in front of a desktop at level 159 must be quite a dream job!

Ah really, they should prepare the terrace of Tier 24-start to allow public visits. It would be the most awesome man-made belvedere in the world at 740m of height, a source of fantastic photos to bring back home!

Cheers, mate, and thank you again!

My point too. It must be the terrace of tier 24 indeed.

Hi Cul.
By the looks of what I have it does look like the stairs go up to section 23B. There is a hatch to tier 24 terrace but I don't think the stairs access that as it is only 800 by 1200 mm - maybe though. What I wouldn't do for a full set of prints and drawings ...

Hi Ricardo.

I don't mind. In fact I would mind even less if you grab this zip. Anyone who is interested - feel free.

BD_Plan_and_Methodology.zip (1.5 MB)

It is my complete plan and my tier methodology.

Hi all.

The landscaping that will be around the the base has some pretty cool features.

The features on the side wing A faces look interesting. Wing A faces 300 degrees - the other 2 wings each face one of the annexes. There is 3 nested concrete features that extend out from base 0 that kind of make it look like the wing extends out further. Not sure how the greenery will tie into it yet but it is interesting.

Here is some shots showing the said feature. Imagehost seems to be having issues so tinypic it is ...

The feature is on the left side of the shot

The thing is quite large

Here the shot shows what it is facing. The feature is at the bottom near the 25 in the date. It faces a round water feature (perhaps a fountain) with 2 oblong shaped features beside it.

Should look cool when it all comes together.

There are many other landscaping features all the way around the base. The whole area should look good when it is done. Once the cladding and the crane disassembly proceedure are completed it will give us something to watch since it appears the powers to be, are sticking to the "no more internal site visits" thing.
