What I miss is a photo of Burj Dubai from a VERY long distance, let's say 50 miles away. Is there someone who has taken such a picture?

Just look for one on previous pages, it wouldn't be so different since thats just a shadow of the structure.

This picture clearly shows what i was trying to say in my previsou post.... the steel cladding looks alot different and stands out to the normal cladding because of the double glass per one floor look.... In my opinion, this doesnt suite it at all

This is so amazingly high!
If you put it down horizontally, it would take the fastest man on earth 1 minute and 45 second to run 818meters!

I wonder how dubai will look in 50 years

Hi all.

That is an interesting way to put the height into perspective - kool.

Hi Ember.

I don't think there was many options. Making the cladding 6.4 m. high would mean the glass would be over 5 m. tall. That may be into special order dimensions. Although not impossible it would have to be very thick to factor in the wind loading up that high. Levels 123 and 124 are 6.0 m. high and have one pane but they are lower so could be made a little thinner.

Anyway I think it looks good. Also it hides the need for 3.2 m. high cladding on the 6 levels with mezzanines up there. This way they blend right in.

No, in a couple of photos ago, you could see how they were placing the cladding with the BMU.
