Never seen that guyed mast before. What's the height and purpose? Maybe they should replace it with a proper self-supporting structure.

Hi Ember.

I don't think there was many options. Making the cladding 6.4 m. high would mean the glass would be over 5 m. tall. That may be into special order dimensions. Although not impossible it would have to be very thick to factor in the wind loading up that high. Levels 123 and 124 are 6.0 m. high and have one pane but they are lower so could be made a little thinner.

Anyway I think it looks good. Also it hides the need for 3.2 m. high cladding on the 6 levels with mezzanines up there. This way they blend right in.

Thanks for the reply.... yeh i know what you mean, however they could have made the glasss like 4.2 Meters, meaning there would be 3 bits per 2 floors. It wouldnt matter if it overlapped the steel because they are not public floors. And 4m is an average height for floors throughout the building. What do you think?

Hi Ember.

That is a thought. They would have to have cross members in place at the areas where the cladding meets. Sounds like more work needlessly - no ?

As I said I like it - looks OK.

Besides it is up there now - might as well embrace it ...

From a distance it looks fine... just some of the pictures it looks like theres clearly 2 sections of the building.... Concrete and Steel. wish they would have blended it abit more atleast..... the sudden size change in windows jsut doesnt loook good to me.

Now that it's basically finished, I decided I don't really like it.

It's kinda... big.

it's hard to believe it is a real structure. It doesn't even fit in most of the pictures. I have to see it myself

The end is near as the top crane is positioned for dismantling.

I saw around noon and it seams the small crane had already got hold of the boom with his hook.

Would be a shame to get hit by a piece of glass falling from that height no matter if you are just a cesual person or a constr. worker. Wonder how often things were falling down durring the building process, if ever. Even a little thing is at a deadly speed near the ground level and can cause some serious damage.
