Question.''

The Twin towers had 111 floors and they were 415 meters tall.
The Burj tower will be 815 meters tall with 160 floors. How can that be possible?

If we say that each floor is 3,8/3,9 meters like it was in twinn towers then the Burj tower should count 209 floor instead of 160.

Why do they loose so many floors?
Is it because each floor will be higher than the normal height of 3,9 meters?
Or is it because the last 100/150 meters of the tower will not have floors.

Dont you think that 160 floors for a 815 meters skycraper are few?
Of course with 160 floors Burj tower will be the highest of all but with 815 meters they could make a hell of a good record with 200 floors !!!

You answered the question yourself, that are only the real accesssible floors, excluding the mechanical floors and all spire access levels. The spire access levels are too small. Obviously it wont be reasonable to use them.

Hey guys check this out. It's not a real movie trailer but gives you an idea about the future of Dubai and how it would look like. The Burj Dubai is included!

I counted the levels on that fuzzy schedule and noticed the skipped levels are included also. It would be nice to make out the designations along the top and bottom but it is better than nothing. One thing to remember is all the stuff we have received from whoami is from the prev. revision. That being said more often than not the print or info still applies to the current revision. The office annex addition is a revision made very late in the game so untill someone gets us new info we won't have any prints or schedules on it.

That fuzzy schedule just got a bit clearer - the designations along the top/bottom are the individual lift codes - e.g. OB1, R6, BS1/F, etc and it follows that the sides have the level numbers, but noteworthy are the ones from 155 and up. There's no mezz numbers, just straight contiguous numbering all the way from P2 P1, Concourse, Ground, 1 up to 162, then Spire1 and Spire 2.

Mechanical level 6 is represented by levels 155, 156 and 157 in this chart.

No mention of 155Mezz, 158Mezz,

Did level numbering change somewhere, as I thought that the height increases did not add or change any levels within the occupied floors - only increased the height of the spire ? Even the really old 700m version (with OB deck on 142) had occupied levels up to 154, just as today's version has.

The smaller block to the right of the main grid is a legend that shows how each elevator uses its space on each given floor - pit, mechanical, level served or not served, etc. etc. All the good stuff is there.

Question: Why is BS-4 a rack-and-pinion machine and not a Gen-2 ?

Hope this helps to bring out answers to all the other questions.

Hi all.

Hey Library.

The schedule is from the revision just before the current one. We can tell because there is no tiers named roof 1, 2, 3, or 4. The current version has tier 19 as roof 1 and tier 22 as roof 4 / spire 1. The last version had tier 19 as spire 1. If you look at the old renders tier 18 has terrace all the way around with tier 19 as a smaller 3 winged tier continuing up. The height increase was achieved by having the setbacks continue spiralling up instead of ending tier 18 flat.

A pic is worth a thousand words - here is what I mean by tier 19 having terrace all the way around.

As for the lack of mezzanines that is the way they numbered the levels in the last revision.

Hi Alexandris.

Hightech answered your question - two things though.

The highest named level - the 162nd - is at 624.1 m.
The levels range in height between 3.2 and 6.4 m.
