I haven't seen much on things goin on in Burlington. But it seems like it's still growing.
Here's a Waterfront Implementation Plan from the city: http://cms.burlington.ca/AssetFactory.aspx?did=3574

Now that I'm back in Oakville I'm going to see if I can fix my brother's digital camera and hopefully I can provide some updates to this section.
Lots of construction going on south of QEW in Oakville, and then there is the new hospital in northern Oakville about to begin construction soon. The QEW going through Burlington and Oakville was recently expanded to eight lanes. |

What a difference this has made. The added lanes and reconfiguration of exits has greatly improved travel times through this stretch of highway that for YEARS has been a nightmare.

Hopefully more people are car pooling now with these lanes. The QEW through Burlington and Oakville is so clean and freshly paved. It's so much fun to drive on it when there is little traffic. |

That is true but I think the traffic congestion in this area had more to do with the awful alignment of the Trafalgar, Dorval, and Kerr exits along with the Merge of the QEW and 403. No doubt the extra lane helps as well but I think the above was the bigger contributor.

There used to be a neighbourhood next to Dorval and Rebecca made up of old war veterans homes. That entire neighbourhood has been demolished and is planned for construction. St. Thomas school right across the street from that nieghboourhood is expanding. Lots of town houses/ condos going up near downtown Oakville. |

Got some photos today of developments going on in Oakville. I didn't get a chance to go down by the lake and check out Bronte. I'll do that next weekend. I'll also make an effort to go down to Burlington. Although I'm not as familiar with the developments going on over there. Feel free to ask me to take photos of any projects you're interested in.

Thanks for the picture updates! Is that old house going to be torn down at the Rain condos?

I think those houses are the only thing holding back construction of those condos. Hopefully they can move them soon. Oakville seems to do a pretty good job of preserving it's historic structures. |

Good to hear that they'll be moved. Maybe to Port Credit?

The Shore
http://www.theshorescondo.com/ Saw this for the first time today. Real nice, prime location. It's going to have a great view of the lake and harbour. From what I've seen so far, this seems to be the largest condo development going on in Oakville right now. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The two houses boarded up in this pic will be preserved as you will see in the next pic. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yes it is.
I also notice you were asking about the Ironstone condos in Burlington. Construction hasn't even begun on those yet. |
