I don't really like Vancouver highrises. They look too uniform, like third-world suburban highrises in, oh, say, Niteroi. There are some exceptions with the newer, unique developments. When I speak of the uniform corncob field, I'm thinking of the West End and Concorde Pacific Place in Yaletown.

on the subject of the cristalla, I noticed on the old microsoft live shots that it used to have a smaller older 4 story next to it that appears to no longer be there. Whuh happened?

Haha, nooo no no, when i say "that guy" I'm referring to the parking lot itself. That's a strange little twist in language that some americans do to refer to objects (like parking lots) as "guy"

I wonder if Justen will continue to work with Opus NW (who is also constructing 1521) for these towers?

That interior design course I took a few years back was good for something--fancy words.

The ground floor housed a small art gallery and 2nd Ave. Pizza which also featured some art as well as adventurous live music, often for free. |

Seattle: 2015 2nd Ave - 39 stories
I couldn't find a thread for this project, so figured it was time to start one. Feel free to merge if I missed it.
New design review docs are up for this at the following (Note that it is a LARGE PDF file - 16MB). The 2nd design review is for June 24th. http://www.seattle.gov/dpd/AppDocs/G...endaID2358.pdf Here are a few of the renderings included: ![]() ![]() ![]() Other details: 39 stories 440 feet including mechanical 244 units 308 parking 1st floor retail (appears to be 4 separate spaces) 7th floor and roof decks/amenity space It would appear that from the 1st rendering above that the sister tower is still in the works(?). They also show the 1915 2nd Ave project there as well. Overall, interesting stone/materials IMHO although perhaps could be a bit brighter. Another roof deck (like 1521) is very nice of course. And surely blows away what is currently at this location

Not really Saying anything, more asking. I remember there was news on here that the lot by the Cristalla had been sold and that fact might mean the twin towers idea might be dead. But I am no insider, so really I have no clue who is involved with this project or what its status is.

I'm pretty sure it's just a single tower and the other lot and the other side of the street was sold. What a beautiful building! I wish this was under construction now! It's what I've been waiting for! Also it really reminds me of AVA. I love it! Great job WT! |

Its also a little Columbia Towerish if you look at the penthouse rendering.
