I continue to be amazed that the agency keeps escaping the axe. Seems like it's the only thing around here that the legislature isn't using as an ATM for their own pet projects.

Right, and its because we have people who care about the THCEA. Imagine if they did not have that support base.

How much does anyone think it would cost to remove the Tampa St. entrance, remove the Plant Ave. Exit, and instead make a Crosstown entrance starting near Parker Street? I think that would be better for Tampa and everyone.

Not sure what to make of that.

I think eventually, the Tampa St ramp will need to be removed to make way for additional mainline lanes. But who knows!

It's been a while since I last reported on the expressway. I noticed today that new streetlights are being installed along the rebuilt viaduct through downtown and through 50th St. These new lights are the same as the ones installed along I-4 through Ybor, the I-4/I-275 junction, the rebuilt portion of I-275 through West Tampa, and the Vets through the airport area. My guess is that eventually, the entire expressway east of DT will have these lights installed on the local lanes.
