Yes, thanks vlado1. I think "Portal" would be the best English translation! "Port" has a very definite meaning to an English speaker so if they are trying to use a smart English name "Portal" would be better. I think they are trying to convey that it is an "entrance" to Bratislava.

I wonder why they don't name it just Brána (Gate in English). In many articles about this project it's named Lamačská brána (Lamač is quarter close to this project). Lamačská brána is also the name of geomorphological unit in which is this project located. The name Port is misleading also when it's translated to Slovak prístav because this word means exactly the same like port in English.

I think they chose a name "Port" because "Park" is not so popular already

D2 je nasa najstarsia dialnica

Budovať tunel na 30 rokov je veľký luxus. Podľa mňa aspoň ten tunel mal byť priparvený na 2x3. Ale čo už. Zatiaľ to stačí a po nás potopa.

Obávam sa, že vďaka kvalitnému plánovaniu bude v budúcnosti nutné tie diaľnice degradovať na obyčajné cesty prvej triedy a ten tretí pruh urobiť na úkor stredového a odstavného pásu.
Ten ekonomický tiger by mohol ceriť zuby ešte oveľa viac, keby ho nebrzdila infraštruktúra, či skôr jej absencia. Čo už.

2 qwert: netreba ich degradovat, staci zmenit legislativu, ze v meste netreba odstavne pruhy, len miesta na opravu.. maju to tak napriklad rakusani ...
skoda, ze ten tunel nestavali na 9,5 m sirku ale len 7,5m .. btw. podobny problem riesili aj v svajciarsku mali 2+2 a uz nezvladal kapacitu, tak dostavali jednu ruru na 3 a mali 3+2+2 pohoda...inak samotna mlynska dolina az taky problem neni, je to vlastne 2+2+2+2
