arch scrapers

It may not be a popular trend but I noticed how arch-like buildings and skyscrapers are sprouting up on today's major cities.

Such examples would be,

The Arch (left), (HK)

Umeda Sky Building (Osaka)

Any more?

lol i dont raelly like those skyscrapers..

i dont like all of the ones above other than the (huge) apartment on the right hand side in the hongkong photo (which i think is very trendy and is a good combination of arc and normal skyscrapers)

I find them ok as long as their not among the tallest buildings in the city.

The one in Kaohsiung looks nice but the location isn't

That's the most disgusting one - it's a travesty it's up there with the likes of Petronas, Empire State, 2-IFC, BoC's, Jin Mao etc. It's absolutely disgusting - if there's one thing Taiwan should be banned from, it's building supertalls; their two efforts are absolutely vomit inducing.

The Taipei 101 isn't that bad at least it's better than the Tuntex. There was another supertall planned for Kaohsiung called the Asia Plaza. And yes the architecture looks terrible. Glad they didn't build it

The one from Beijing is great.

And here is quite interesting project from Gdańsk in Poland. It is not an arch scryper, but its forming a kind of gate.Probably it will be 62 floors high and will be called a Freedom's Gate.Renders are crappy, but still should be interesting:

The one in Paris is beautiful and has an iconic location, if it is a little neglected in terms of renovation / maintenance.

I can't stand most of them (The Arch, The thing in Kaoshiung, etc.) But the Osaka one is surprisingly easy on the eyes.

Here's another one. It's not really an arch scraper but it has a nice hole

The Repulse Bay, HK
