Café Ontario

I created this thread so others can share their ideas, suggestions or opinions hence the name Café Ontario. Think of it as a donut diner where you can sit down and chit chat.

First off as Premier of Ontario haha I would like to put one thing out. I will not accept any form of negativism or bickering here. If you don’t positive comments than please simply keep them to yourself. I encourage debates and different opinions but please keep offensive comments to yourself. This is a public forum so it’s exposed to offensive comments. If there’s bickering, negativism, wrong attitude, etc please PM me and I’ll do my very best to deal with the situation as soon as possible. I want the Ontario forum to be a fun and positive environment.

As Mod I just want everyone to know I’m not going to rule with an iron fist as some may have noticed from past posts of mine I’m an extremely laid back kind of person so please go ahead and have fun.

Now does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for the Ontario section? I have a few ideas but I’ll wait until what others suggest first.

So sit back, take it easy, relax and have fun. Hope you enjoyed your hot beverage at Café Ontario, I know I enjoyed my café mocha.

Café Ontario? Spa Ontario could be much more fun. Do they at least serve alcohol here?

As a thread suggestion, what about having an Ontario Construction Photo Thread? Possibly an Ontario Proposals thread? Possibly merge the two topics together? I'd also suggest it be labeled "No Discussion". That way the thread(s) can be used as a quick way to keep up-to-date on the Province without having to go through hundreds of posts. If someone sees an interesting proposal they'd like to comment on, it would be done in that city's discussion thread.

Even better though, would be if Ontario could get sub-folders like Toronto for High-Rise and Low-Rise Developments. Each building would get it's own thread, which would be open for discussion.

I'm interested VId, though I have no idea what you're talking about.

Can we turn this into a 'I love Ontario' thread? Cuz I do.

I can't think of a more geographically diverse and nurturing place. What an awesome province.

Looks like the Senators are on their way to being Ontario's top NHL team this year.

Sure I'll change the thread title every month, how's that? Next it'll be "I Love Ontari-ari-ari-o!".

Well, on Wikipedia, one user (NE2, if you care to look it up) recently changed the word "decommissioned", as relating to the closure, dismantling, or re-routing of a highway, or re-assignment of a highway number, to "deleted", saying that "decommissioned", as it related to the closure, dismantling, or re-routing of a highway, or re-assignment of a highway number, is a neologism (A new term, which Wikipedia has a policy of avoiding). However, the term delete is also ambiguous and, as you, 1ajs, kamiux, and another person (who chose to remain anonymous for personal reasons ) stated, they don't understand how a highway can be deleted. They at least got the gist of decommissioned. There is quite a discussion going on now.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikiped...ommissioned.22

A couple interesting tidbits I have learned from this discussion: In Texas, when a highway is closed down, they refer to that as "cancelling", as in, "Once it was no longer needed, Texas Highway 43 was cancelled." In other states, highways are "eliminated", or the more lengthy, "eliminated from the state system".

This entire discussion has been quite bizarre, and your post has added even more proof that regular people (The ones who read these articles) do not understand the new term NE2 is trying to promote.

LOL! I thought you were going to say our banana muffins are very sophisticated !

Medium blend is as much as I can handle. Dark roasts like Starbucks uses give me a stomach
ache!

ps have you noticed how slow the service is in this cafe?

First off as Premier of Ontario haha
And as the Prime Minister of Canada, I'm allowed to walk on anyone...haha. (and the Premier of BC, and Mayor of Vancouver)

Great job so far with the Ontario forum, it's already more active.

There is no Tim Horton's near me... That drive through Starbucks is up the street, and VicVille has two Robin's beside each other.. I don't drink coffee anyway. I think I'd rather a milkshake at McKeller Confec.
