I wouldn't consider this a downgrade at all. Both proposals have been awful. This one is probably a little more awful, but will balance that by sticking out a little less.

Why did they decide to add a hotel to the new design of 80 South Street? Any proposal for 80 South Street needs to be residential-only.

I'm very much curious/interested on the cascading gardens incorporated on the facade. The renders we have now and the 3D ones are not very detailed. I'll wait till better ones come out for me to judge

I'd prefer it is a simpler building was built here. A taller version of 250W55th, maybe.

Those new sketches are already very different, it's clearly a design in progress.

I really liked it, it was visually appealing, creative and somehow managed to fit in well with the surrounding boxy buildings in the BB view of the skyline.

I would love to have seen the first proposal somewhere where abstract designs are less out-of-place, like maybe Shanghai. NYC has a more reserved and conservative design style.

We don't want NYC to become hindered by its past like other cities that build conservatively. We want to move with the times and welcome new and innovative forms to improve and reinvigorate the image of the city. NYC has always been a melting pot of different styles and long may it continue!

This proposal is for 845 feet to the top residential floor. Therefore, the top of the structure is around 900 feet.
