Taking another look at it, it does seems like that 150k will be added to what they already have. This one will be a giant F*** you to those seaport Nimbys.

Cheers Ghost!!

From the letter! Insanely funny.

Here's the punchline: she's a real estate broker!

Think of their little toddlers all vitamin D deprived playing in the shadows at the Imagination Playground on Burling Slip!

In that save our seaport letter, there is a good chart breaking down the assemblage and the source. according to the chart the actually figure is 818k sf. My figure not too far off.

The letter was published March 22nd before a deal struck with Edison for additional rights just today. In the Chart it disclosed that HH had already acquired approximately 65k sf from Edison. That 500k sf is definitely not included in the total in that chart below.

So the total SF still add up to over a million right?

They claim it'll be higher than the WTC so it would pretty much have to unless it were really skinny.

I wish those darn Seaport NIMBYs would just go away. They can't stop the 80 South Street tower anyway, isn't that just outside the venue where heights can be restricted? I really hope that tower gets built and gives em fits, but lol there's nothing they can do about it! These pretentious posers just piss me off, like the Upper East Side snobs who stand fast against encroaching height no matter even if it makes sense in some locations to build higher.

I think thy should just take the square footage of the seaport tower and add it to SHoP's building to create a 500+ meter monster and rub it in their faces.

I might of interpreted the article wrong. lol. I dunno, I'm confused.

What is clear, the total amount that had been assembled for the site is aprox 818 k sf. In that chart, it shows Howard Hughes purchased a total of 64k sf. The article yesterday said it purchased 150k sf worth from Edison! Taking the difference and adding it to the 818k sf probably at the moment gives 80 South approximately 903k sf. for development.

Anyway, this tower is going to be pretty tall and the save our seaport people is going to have to start preparing their children some imagination.

Read the article and my breakdown in post #750, then add 519k sf.

845k + 519k = 1.36m sf

Anyway.. It's a bit confusing and I'm confused and I don't want to confuse anyone further more. hehe.

The chart says 818k sf total assemblage for 80 South. I don't know where that article got the combined 500k sf of development rights which has thrown me into a bit of a spin.

To add to my confusion the same article says Howard Hughes paid Edison Properties for 150k sf of rights but the assemblages chart from Save our Seaport says they had only bought a combined total of 64,708k sf from Edison.

Anyway, we eventually know how much this site will really have.

I'm also having to use my imagination for sunlight, those damn clouds causing days of overcast! Who ever gave planning permission for those?

This project shows how spoiled we've become in NYC. A year ago, we were psyched over the thought of this tower breaking the 300m mark. Now, if we get anything less than 425m, we'll be let down! That being said, I hope that we break 450m and that Nirdstrom's crown is seized before it is bestowed!

As the Bard said: "Uneasy is the head that wears the crown!"

Indeed, and it's also about the closest you get to Downtown Brooklyn (on Manhattan that is). So from the southwest it will be in front of the WTC.
