I dont know why, but I find that this city has a strange charm to it that makes it so appealing to me

Thanks and kudos for starting this thread to the OP.

I wanted to start a thread about the CAR because unfortunately we get to hear or see so little about this country, its one of Africa's forgotten countries

I agree. I think I have a slight fetish for the smaller cities, but this city especially. The nature seems very well connected to the city. You look at all that greenery mixed with colonial architecture and it seems almost quaint.

Ive also noticed that despite being in one of the poorsest countries in the world, Bangui has actually managed to keep alot of its buildings in very good shape, and the roads dont look too bad, all they need is a sweep up and some markings

Driving through the market, the heart of Bangui. If you click on the youtube link then it will take you to dozens of other videos. No point me spamming the page with them.

Fantastic contribution NL-RCA. Really appreciate the great pictures. I think I see a bit of construction in pictures 1 and 7. Do you know anything about this? Great pictures.

I also saw that a 5 star hotel will be open in june 2012:

Ledger Hotels & Resorts by Laico/ Hotel Ledger Plaza Bangui-CAR

avril 2011– Poste actuel (1 an 2 mois)Bangui - CAR

LAICO is proud to announce the launch of its new brand of properties named Ledger Hotels & Resorts, along with the soon opening of the Ledger Plaza Bangui (Centrafrique), the Ledger Plaza Maya Maya in Brazzaville, and the ledger Plaza Bahari Beach in a Dar es Salaam.

I've been told that hotel 500 chambres is Hotel Ledger Plaza Bangui. So picture number 7is the new hotel with: 156 rooms, 3 restaurants, 4 bars, Wellness, night club, congres center congres, tennis, pool, business center.

Actullay the planning was to open the hotel in 2011, but Khaddafi was one of the biggest investors.

I doubt it with the lack of advertising space. The only information I can find about the Bangui bus service is that they bought Renault models which have two doors, smaller side windows and more rectangular.
