I can't believe I didnt come upon this thread earlier.

Any idea on when Trinity Cathedral's dome is planned for reconstruction?

That reminds me, Fenol do you have photos of some of the churches and cathedrals (sobors) of Petersburg. I am especially interested in a panoramic view of Smolny sobor and some other not well-known (least photographed) churches in the city, like the one on 116, Obvodny Canal Embankment (The Church of the Resurrection), etc

Amazing, one of the worlds great cities yet so underrated.

I love the mix of 18th Century Baroque, 19th Century Revival and early 20th Century Jugenstil / Art Nouveau.

The Socialist Realist buildings aren't too bad either, you can see the references to the Renaissance in them.
