there are indeed many options but rely on Kesineni's & Garuda[APSRTC] they travel faster than others.7-8 hrs max.

TMT's Marcopolos and NMMT's Volvos are far better maintained than most of BEST's Kinglongs. In spite of upto 65% fare hike last month, this is the treatment meted out to the AC buses

The hike was last Friday...leaving MTs all other depots kinglongs are well maintained but you as usual like to generalise one bad thing to everything else

FYI Santacruz too has one such bus. And ALL depots except magathane having well maintained buses? Definitely not. I would rather say that all depots except Poisar, Wadala and Oshiwara have low standards of Kinglong maintenance; just the magnitude varies.

Nope, havent seen one.I live closeby and havent seen any of it. Dindoshi,Anik,Majas,Deonar is good....If you are hell bent at nitpicking ome then even I have seen NMMTs volvos side glass panels broken for a long period of time,rear tail lights broken. They even managed to scew the new CNG volvo, thats why it was off the road for a long time in between ,nw its given back to.company I gues

I agree that no one comes close to the poor maintenance of Magathane. But BEST is responsible for what the depot does, isn't it? I have been complaining about Magathane depot to the higher authorities for 2 years, still there has been hardly any improvement. Hence BEST cannot be absolved of responsibility, as they have been turning a blind eye to my complaints for 2 years.

From what a few acquaintances travelling in Kinglongs tell me, Santacruz and Deonar too are on the downhill path these days.

AFAIK the CNG Volvo is still in service.

The drivers of OSh depot tells me that MT depot have the worst mechanics in BEST. Unfortunately they have the most AC services along with Mu depot under it which runs throughout the week except for AS2 so temporary repairwork is common there. Talks are going on to shift some of the services to BESTs new depot on link road but its getting delayed indefinately.
Once MTs 6845 bus was given to OSH depot, so it was terribly maintained that in the next round of bus transfers OSH gave it to S depot.

These two cities are connected with loads of Volvos and Benz buses. More than 30 Volvo services are run in this route other than Non AC services, which is highest in South India. Roads are good between these two cities so time taken is almost same for all private travels and Govt (APSRTC and KSRTC) buses.

Best operators in terms of well maintained buses and service:

1. HKB Tours and Travels (Volvo, Benz)

2. Kesineni (Volvo, Sleeper)

3. Orange Travels (Benz, Sleeper)

4. Dhanunjaya (Volvo, Sleeper)

5. Kaveri Travels (Volvo)

6. Sindhu (Volvo)

7. Bharathi (Volvo)

Prices are more for APSRTC services.
