Small questionnaire:
1. What car do you drive.
2. What camera do you use.
3. Your favourite road.
4. The worst road you've ever driven.
5. Places worth visiting in your country.
6. Places worth visiting in your city.
7. Why Struma motorway is the best in the world?

Ok, 7th question is just a joke. 1-6 are serious. I'm waiting for short answers without or with short comments. And please don't comment other's answers (especially my car is better or something like that).

1. What car do you drive.
I don't drive a car, I take the tram. Not worth paying for all the fuel when you get there as fast (or should I say slow) as with public transport (here in Romania, at least )
Quote:
2. What camera do you use.
I think I used the Canon A420 during my holiday. One of the budget ones, but I only loaned it from someone. I hope to buy an HD video camera next year, one which also takes pictures.
Quote:
3. Your favourite road.
- Strada statale delle Dolomiti.
- Autostrada dalla Valle d'Aosta
- Brenner Autobahn / Autostrada del Brennero
- ALL roads in Tyrol (South & North)
- A dozen others with nice mountain scenery.
- Adriatic highway on the Montenegrin Coast & Makarska riviera
- main road on the island of Capri and main road on the Sorrento Peninsula.
Quote:
4. The worst road you've ever driven.
I have my fair share of those (no asphalt on those, only rocks & stones):
- road across the Rarau Mtns. in Romania.
- road across the Bucegi Mtns. in Romania.
- national road 2A (I think) over the Vrancea Mtns. (guess where?) We stopped the car, put on the handbrake, stepped out and it actually slid some 1 m backwards down the slope, on the pebbles the road was made of. That was scary!
Quote:
5. Places worth visiting in your country.
In Romania:
- Prahova Valley, Bucegi Mountains and Peles Castle in Sinaia. The rock walls of the slopes are more impressive in Busteni though.
- Bran Castle (a.k.a. Dracula's Castle, even though he actually had little to do with it)
- Transfagarasan (paved) road over the Fagaras Mtns., the highest mountain range in Romania.
- Sibiu if you like culture and old cities, also Brasov.
Quote:
6. Places worth visiting in your city.
- In Timisoara: Unirii & Libertatii squares, also the city center.
Quote:
7. Why Struma motorway is the best in the world?
- You haven't found out yet??? Because it has f...ing awesome shiny crashbarriers which reflect your headlights at night and illuminate all of the surroundings so you can acually see the peak of the Rila Mtn. at night from all the reflected light!!!

And actually I believe this question DOES warrant a thread of its own.
It´s 25 km long and it´s maybe not the best but one of the really better ones in europe, not only Bulgarians but also tourists are amazed when this motorway starts, after leaving the Sofia Pernik road and going under the bridge of it they see this new shiny thing and think, "what´s this, this is awesome"

Is the Sofia - Pernik road 4 lanes? In 2004 there were some works there to expand it, what's the status now?

I always assumed the Struma begins in Sofia, how come it begins in Pernik? Why didn't they begin from the capital?

Also Radi I want to hear your opinion on this: which motorway in Europe you think is, or you suspect might be, superior to the Struma?

It begins where you turn to the E-79 direction Kulata, you underpas the road to Pernik and the new motorway pups out and you press the acceleration pedal hard.

1. '07 Peugeot 407 2.0
2. Olympus µ410D
3. a 4-lane expressway in Brussels, covered by trees; but it's short, so Croatian A1 Zagreb-Split, A6 Zagreb-Rijeka and Italian A10 Genova-France
4. very easy question: a muddy "road" in the middle of nowhere (south of Ljubljana though), where my car lost its exhaust pipe; but as it's completely unimportant (I just drove there for fun), I'd say the Italian 4-lane expressway SS33, leading from Milan(o) towards the Simplon Pass in Switzerland
5. Ljubljana, Bled, Postojna Cave, Adriatic coast, Alps, Strojan family, ...
6. center, part of the Strojan family, ...
7. because it's long

1. no car yet, have driven several types of cars.
2. Sony erricson K810i or the Kodak easyshare CX7430
3. Struma motorway, reconstructed road to Bansko, E79 national road
4. Austrina concrete motorway leading to Vienna, some Serbian motorway before the rehabilitation
5. The valleys and steep peaks of the Rila mountain
6. my flat and the "memo" technobar
7. Because of the awesome reflective shiny crashbarriers and bridge balustrate, because of the topnotch design with many many bridges, because of the awesome fat markings, because of the wide emergency lane and because of the ******* awesome extremly smooth asphalt and because of the exits which the motorway overpasses, the exits have trafficlightjunctions and two lanes leave the motorway at exits.

No, I haven't even driven this part of the R0. I think it's this one:

Of course I drove on the bottom part of it (direction east), which you can't even see.
