money, the investors are primarily bosnian, (excluding BOSMAL) for them the cheaper the design the better hence beauty is abandoned for functionality making the buildings simple in design. The more complex the design the more expensive the construction. as the complexity of the design grows you need more and more trained professionals to follow the project through the entire cycle. as these projects are from home capital from our own firms which lack the necessary capital for expensive designs which would need to bring many field professionals tend to as i said before go for functionality (meaning as long as the building serves its purposes of making money for the investor) they will abandon beauty. once we reach the point where our companies can include both functionality and beauty to their designs then we will se exciting new designs. for now only the foreigners can do that for us.

UNITIC was designed in 80's when that design was well sought after. the new UNITIC tower will follow the design to fit in to the complex.

Avaz is just a rich mans statement.

in the end beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. for me Tokyo skyline is wonderful but allot of people complain that it is just too plain and boxy.

I think that Bosmal looks good, I mean dont forget it's a residental building, so dont expect and glass facade. The Avaz tower(like it or not) is something different and deffinetly not plain. GMC looks great IMO. The only architectural dissapointment is probably Unitic 3, but its not really that bad, and it fits in with the other two Unitic towers.

LOL. I see what you mean but I'm pretty sure that, despite Avaz's conservative Bosniak leanings, it's a complete coincidence.

Or is it?

lol.... LORD MARSHALL... no you are right, it is twisted, and the graves are not... what do you want a mass grave underneath the skyscraper so there is more of a resemblance. i just think its a unique bosnian symbol in the area and its reflected in the skyscraper.

but i guess we will never know for sure. there is a building outside my appt that looks very odd... always wondered what it was supposed to look like... i saw it a few days a ago it suddenly hit me.... it s the bridge of a ship... and its abot 100 meters from eht beach. genious i thought. and it hadnt occured to me in 3 years. its like art i guess, it means different things to different people

Avaz Company, one of the most successful companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, besides publishing and printing activities, is developing a new project - constructing the topmost building in the region - AVAZ TWIST TOWER, 162 meter high, the third magnificent building constructed by the Company.

Avaz Twist Tower will consist of 38 floors, with 13.500 square meters of useful space. The entire complex will be built by the newest standards in the world, from statics solutions and seismic analysis, to architectural perfomances, surpassing many famous European buildings

The scraper looks great, but does the base need to be that large?

Give it some time, once this building is 50% done, I'll bet at least 2 more projects are going to approved next to it. Look at Hrasno for example; once the BCC got approved, the land prices boomed and 3 other projects started construction instantly.
