The teachers Hmm, They already get 3 months of vacation, an ungodly number of holidays and a 5 hour work day. I say cut their pay and tell them to save for your own retirement like the rest of us.
Teachers in Canada get paid tons and they still complain. Especially in Ontario...The Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP) is so rich and owns tons, it's one of the leading investors in Canada I think. Yet they are still complaining and threatening to go on strike.

Do they have something similar to this in NYS as well?

It is a very weird set of comments from that guy especially the stuff you needed to edit out.

Should I be asking Newel what to write about? I did not know that was a rule. I hope I am not going to get in trouble.
We are supposed to debate the merits and conduct an impact study of every proposed development, store opening, restaurant menu and new awning in the city. And cut all of those lucrative ties to the humongous development community.

Maybe we SHOULD rename the site "Newell's News". Oy-veyyy. Like we're assigned stuff to put up. Conspiracy theories are quite funny.
WCP also started getting oddly attacked by someone on SpeakUpWNY recently. I was wondering if it's the same Tool from BRO?

I wish Wegmans would start selling alcoholic products (other than beer). Is that a New York State law? or does Wegmans voluntarily not selling alcohol (other than beer)? It was nice, when I lived in the OC, I could go down to Ralphs, Vons, or Albertsons and buy any alcohol beverage i wanted.

a part of me wants to say Jamestown because of the church, hills, and the housing style...but since you're from the Pittsburgh area it is likely a surrounding township...I'll guess Butler.

Highlights from the Eagles game last week:

J.R. Reed slams Lee Evans
Sav Rocca buries Roscoe Parrish

Both plays drew big cheers from the crowd.

Here are pictures from the Eagles game against the Bills, if anyone is interested. I attended 4 Eagles games this year; 3 at home and 1 on the road. The Eagles were 4-0 in games that I attended. Next year, all 8 road games look like they are doable, so I will be going on at least one road trip next season.

Kickoff

On Brian Westbrook's first carry, he breaks the Eagles' all-time single season record for yards from scrimmage, passing Wilbert Montgomery.

The team celebrates Westbrook's accomplishment.

Westbrook is acknowledged by the organization.

Brent Celek scores!

David Akers became the Eagles' all time scorer on the road. After the extra point, the organization acknowledged his feat.

Brian Westbrook breaks the Eagles' single season record for catches in a season, passing Irving Fryar.

Second quarter action.

The crowd rises as McNabb throws for the end zone.

The Bills convert on 4th & 1.

Kevin Curtis recovers the fumble for a touchdown!

The Bills go for it on 4th & Inches.

The Bills get stuffed, turnover on downs!

The Eagles win!

This reminded me of a post of mine recently...talking about how all the McDonalds in WNY (and nationwide) are being demolished and replaced with "coffeehouse-like" replacements to compete with Starbucks.

NEW YORK - McDonald’s Corp is set to launch coffee bars with “baristas” serving cappuccinos and lattes, moving into direct competition with global coffee chain Starbucks Corp., The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.

McDonald’s will install coffee bars at its 14,000 U.S. stores, incorporating theatrics similar to Starbucks’ counters, displaying espresso machines and having baristas prepare drinks, the report said.

The report, citing internal documents from 2007, said the move will add $1 billion to McDonald’s annual sales of $21.6 billion. McDonald’s will also sell smoothies and bottled beverages, it said.

I got some pizza tonight from this place a co-worker said was quite good. As I walked up to it, it looked like it was straight out of Buffalo. I went in and was instantly transported to Cheektowaga. It was as if a teleportation device was placed in the front door.

Quite good Buffalo style pizza... and yes, the owners are from the BUF.

I know this is about 10 pages too late haha, but I was driving down Transit earlier and it dawned on me...when we were talking about what to do with Transit Road, I believe it was homestar that proposed installing a median and then having vehicles make U-turns at the intersections instead of keeping the two-way left-turn lane...I can't believe I didn't think of this before, we can't do that because we'd have to widen Transit Road...you can't have vehicles doing U-Turns unless it is atleast 3 lanes wide in each direction (currently 2 in each direction plus center turn-lane) because vehicles physically couldn't make the U-Turn.

I know its kinda random, but I couldn't move on with my life until I posted it here. haha.

Why not widen Transit Road and include a nice landscaped median with lighting?
