Chicago school

I am very much a fan of the Chicago school, Arts and Crafts, Art deco, Art Nouvo, or Beau Arts styles of architechure. I am not very found of glass and steel. There is something to behold of the Woolworth Bldg, the ESB, Chrysler Bldg, and of course the Flat Iron building. I definitely feel safer in the old school buildings.

My favorite is mix of modern, ecological and imagination...And if you have ability to add dynamic feature, then you have a perfect skyscraper...

^ Regatta Condominium, North Jakarta, Indonesia. The "n" shaped building at right is the hotel and has not been built by far...but the rest are completed.

I like stone and concrete buildings: soviet, functionalism, art deco... They are all pretty different, but as long as they're from stone I generally like them (I am talking about the style, not eery single building). The more modern designs in steel and glass are not really my taste, although I do not dislike them all. It's just a pitty that concrete skyscrapers are out of fashion.

^Post modern by far. Produced some of the best designed skyscrapers since the 1930's.

Post-Modern is great. Worst is anything built between 1950 and 1980.
