Cost to Build vs. Income

I'm new to this forum so I apologize if this is in the wrong place!

I've tried doing some research on this but couldn't find it so here it is!

There is a lot of talk about the specifications of the buildings and where and how they look but how about the REAL reason why skyscrapers are built? They are real estate, and as is generally accepted real estate makes $$$$$. I've tried finding figures on what the projected cost of such projects are and what their projected revenue from rent is but I can not find ANYTHING!

If anyone could provide some information or direct me I would greatly appreciate it.

What I'm specifically looking for your typical (average) skyscraper is...

Total Cost to build
Price per Sq. Ft. to build
Sq. Ft. Available to lease
Price per Sq. Ft. to lease
Appreciation on such buildings
% of Annual Rent Increase

A financial overview or plan would be a phenomenal resource but just the basic facts above would be great too

From the Ground Up ...

This may not be exactly what you need, but it might be a start on the subject of the business of building tall buildings.
