it dwarfs the trucks next to them, so i'm guessing it's really deep. i wonder if it's because of the parking space that they want to create

One reason is size of the Project and another reason is to remove soft soil layer as the building is huge - heavy, it also depends on project specifications

oni na 360 den snimali, i s delali video, pomit i terpinya hvatila..
s takiy economy v kazakhstan, nuzhna eto kamera stoit na mesta minimum 5 goda, i fotografi arhiv ne pomestatsa ne kuda..

The most apparent problem is the soil condition the soil of Astana mostly characterized by various types of soft and dense soil which becomes an obstacle for the project like this. That is why they are using the drilling displacement system

В Астане строители самого высокого небоскреба в Центральной Азии «Абу-Даби плаза» устроили митинг прямо на стройплощадке. Участники несанкционированной акции требовали погашения задолженности по зарплате и улучшения условий труда.

«Зарплату не платят. Уже два месяца, кормят обещаниями. Аванс дали один раз — 5 тысяч, разве на это можно прожить. У нас у всех семьи, дети. И работаем мы без документов, нет ни трудовых, ни пенсионных договоров. Который месяц ничего не можем добиться, сил уже нет терпеть», — рассказал рабочий Куанжан Бекайдаров.

Представитель субподрядной организации заверил собравшихся, что задолженность по зарплате будет погашена.

I am part of the Design/Technical Supervision Team, working as Principal Structural Engineer and Team leader for the tallest building construction project in Central Asia. The project is known as Abu Dhabi Plaza which has a 78 storey tower and two smaller towers. The developer- Al Dar from UAE. The project is to be completed in March, 2015.
I have travelled and worked in many parts of the word including, Sri Lanka, Oman, UAE (Abu Dhabi & Dubai), Brunei, Australia, Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) and currently in Astana , Kazakhstan.

А по-моему, это бред - строить такие здания в таком маленьком городе... Астана не потянет его. Я была во многих таких зданиях Астаны - техобслуживание не ахти. Город должен созреть как мегаполис для такого строительства. Астана все еще провинциальна...
