This new renders differ very much from the nightrender. I'm a bit disappointed...

It looks like the movie helped Kazakhstan's economic problems.
I joke, I joke. But seriously it is very unique and nice!

People, stop! Do you ever read what others have to say on this forum? I was talking about an Abu Dhabi project in the United Arab Emirates NOT the Central Markets in Astana, Kazakhstan:

How shall I put it? Kazakhstan has started designing and constructing its own hirises/skyscrapers decades ago, well before Borat movie came to existence.

That's because they're different projects. Reread the post.

Wow, what a great and unique design!

The monument in the background reminds me of the FIFA World Cup Trophy!

I think they must put it at another place. Not as on this picture. Do somebody have new renders or construction photos, they should start it by plan.

This "monument" is called BAITEREK. And is a symbol of new capital. But actually it is getting reall small near new skyscrapers recently buikt around.

According to Norman Foster's website the complex is currently undergoing design and planning stage. Please bear with us.

Nothing boring coming out of Astana, one could say that much. The Northern Lights project is beautiful.

Great supertall project for Astana, but let's hope any further supertalls aren't built in Astana.

I don't like it

The buildings are so close together yet none of them have walkways connecting each other. How ridiculous.

Actually, this is one whole building. The buildings in the complex will connect to one another via atriums with public meeting spaces and elaborate walkway system, just like in your average medieval Asian market(hence the name)
