Can anyone confirm the twin towers? That, if something, is great news!

The GiraSole looks very nice too. That design is quite unique and it has something new. I'm guessing the scale in the first rendering is wrong. Especially if the tower behind it is The Empire State Building. But it's not unusual to have renderings where the tower seems to be higher than it actually will be.

I think someone over at Skyscraperpage said what other city on earth besides Chicago can build 300+ meter background supertalls... my thoughts exactly, this is just a side project for what is to come over the next decade for the Hudson Yards Megaproject.

Or do we have already a thread for it?

I posted it on the first page. I'm 99% sure that it is indeed another supertall, but it's somewhere in the high-rise section.

Talking about background supertalls, 4WTC, now u/c, which has a lot in common with this tower in terms of shape, may also serve as another simple background supertall in this city.

I agree. Has enough towers, needs more supertalls. New York needs to get it together, too much red tape. Pioneering spirit is so lacking in NYC construction. And don't blame the economy. The Empire State Building shot up like a rocket in 1930/31 and that was the great depression. Glad to see some preparations for a new supertower. Cheers

Still, this tower will certainly add another apex to the midtown skyline, and the site is a good size, the mass should be like the Trump world tower, in white, on the westside......

I think things are going well. The Hudson Yards thing is moving ahead too. Just to make things clear, this building is not 1,000 feet or 305 meters, it's OVER 1,000 feet or 305 meters. It could be over 305m by 4 feet; it could be over 300m by 100 feet. There's nothing to compare it to and it's pointless to try to count floors and see a height from that.

As a side note, Tishman won the bid to build the Hudson Center. I don't think it will have much of an influence over this skyscraper, but it's a part of the area's masterplan. They are planning on building about nine res skyscrapers, and two pairs of twin towers, one pair around 900 feet tall and the other pair around 1,100 feet tall. The four main skyscrapers could make it one of the largest or second-largest office complex in the world behind lower Manhattan's WTC if they get what they want and build in the area of ten million square feet of office space. But they may be forced to make one of the four towers res or partly res depending on the pre-construction deals they make now. No matter what, the City of New York wins. Within the next decade or so, about ten buildings over 800 feet tall and more will be built within this area west of the ESB.

The towers here are only said to be massings, but even they seem like they would work. All of these plans will give life to the fourth largest CBD in the nation, with two of them already on the island.

I'm sure it'll change in the future but at the moment in looks like this tower is build in a sea of lowrise.
