It's a good indication if they had announced the lead GC so they must be very close to securing an anchor to soon go vertical, so I would say it's imminent.

I would love to see a major airport - railway station - and transportation hub in central New Jersey the exact midway point between NYC and Philly.

Most people are not aware that from the southernmost tip of State Island (which is part of NYC) to the northeastern most tip of Philadelphia the distance is only 50 miles !!!

The article suggest they do:
Quote:
The new renderings of the sustainably progressive 3 Hudson Blvd. include:

* A dramatic image of the building looking west on 34th St. from the intersection with Hudson Blvd. Park.

* A Hudson River view, looking east, with the building prominently featured along the West Side skyline.

* A 40th floor office view looking east towards the Empire State Building.

* An interior view of the open 2nd floor sky lobby looking east above the tree tops of Hudson Boulevard Park.

The property is being leased by Avison Young.

In addition 1.5 million s/f of class A office space and 22,000 s/f of retail space, on the uppermost floors 3 Hudson Blvd. is set to include another 350,000 s/f of class A office or up to 14 floors of residences.

Avison Young is in charge of leasing the space to prospective tenants. Theyre not actually leasing space themselves.

I think Mr. Corleone is with CTBUH.

This is very exciting... This possibly could be my favorite Hudson Yards tower.

No, I am with the CTBUH as Mr. Gotham had stated. On lucky occasions architects or developers send us drawings. It is supposed to start this year, but I don't have an exact date.

1,034ft. Well, at least the chop wasn't too bad. And they didn't pull a New York Times Building and add a kitschy 400 foot spire to cheat.

Yeah, it's not a big deal. Ironically, buildings in the 600 - 900ft range usually get a height increase whereas 1,000 footers tend to get a a haircut (with some exceptions like 111W57). You need to propose a 2,000ft tall building in NYC so you end up with a 1,600 footer - if you are lucky.

I also noticed that the city will have many towers at this particular height range (1,000 - 1,100 feet):

- 3WTC: 1,080ft / 1,170ft
- Tower Verre: 1,050ft
- Chrysler Building: 1,046ft (Chrysler counts, NYTT doesn't )
- GiraSole: 1,034ft
- 80 South Street: 1,018ft
- One57: 1,005ft
- 35 HY: 1,000ft

Interesting. What was the 1,060" height based on then?

It may have been announced as 1060 ft. in a news story when the building was first proposed several years ago. The building site is approximately 25 ft. above sea level, so it looks like who ever gave the height of the tower to the press does not know how to read blueprints. This is certainly not the first time this has happened.

Very nice! I do wish the design would be more of a standout, and the height of course another hundred or two feet higher but a very handsome, classy tower for the new midtown West Side row and will be wonderful once it starts breaking ground!
