Moinain claims that construction will start soon, but he doesn't mention tenants.

I wonder who the tenant will be.

here's another possible candidate. I hope they look to find a home in either, 3 Hudson Blvd, 50 Hudson or Hudson Spire.

Is Sotheby’s Looking at Hudson Yards Again?
http://www.artmarketmonitor.com/2015...n-yards-again/

Quote:
Sotheby’s CEO made a strong statement this morning suggesting that the company is planning to move its New York and London headquarters. Does that mean the Hudson Yards concept is back on the table?

Tad Smith’s emphasis on having space that “must be designed for our 21st Century workforce” would suggest a new development. But if not Hudson Yards, it sounds like the company is working aggressively to move and making it a priority.

Our real estate decisions in New York and in London depend crucially on our growth strategy. Our facilities must reflect our enhanced brand standards and the type of client experience we insist upon conveying. They must be elegant and welcoming, and exude superb quality in every aspect of the client experience.

Further, our facilities must be designed for our 21st century workforce. And, naturally, our real estate must be financed in a way that is prudent for our shareholders. Properly conceived, our real estate should be a cornerstone of our strategy just as it was when our esteemed former chairman Alfred Taubman set in motion the real estate position we have to this day. Real estate decisions — separate and apart from mortgage decisions — very much remain on the table and will be part of our strategic thinking.

Great news.... it does look like over the next few weeks/ months we will see how this all starts shaking out, but the demand that's being indicated so far points to a quick construction of several new office towers as the demand for top quality new office space built for a high tech age(which most of the older office stock already here can't readily or at all supply) grows. And the emphasis on various industries and sectors( tech, media, fashion, etc) NOT just financial, is further very encouraging news!

Nice. You can see the twist on the tower and that roof deck, you might as well call it a observation deck. Too bad it will be a private one.

From Tuesday, work is well underway on the subway entrance. I think they have to finish that before work on the tower can begin.

Essentially yes. Right now its in demo. They are preparing the site for steel and caissons.

Whole site is a construction site. Blocks and blocks of towers. You'd think its Dubai with all of the cranes.

If this is u/c now than it`s a little behind schedule. I wonder if it can still be finished in 2017.

Hell no! Unless the have actually done any foundation work on the surrounding site, they have a long way to go before it starts rising out of the ground. Then it is 2 years from that point to completion. All of the current work is for one of the at least 4 entrances to the Hudson Yards 34th Street subway station. That is being built as a separate project and then the tower will be built above. 55 Hudson Yards had the same problem (ventilation equipment box).

January 2nd
Subway entrance is still underway, and probably must be finished before the actual tower can start.

Holy shit. The Girasole is finally U/C! I thought this day would never come! One of my favorite proposals.
