seemingly superfluous height-troll spire confirmed. Not sure how tall the parapet was, but this threatens 30 Hudson Yard's status as the tallest in the new neighborhood.
Theyre shooting for LEED Platinum, so maybe it'll have wind generators. Seems skinny though.

The tower is crowned by a 300-foot spire and a rooftop terrace sheltered by glass windscreens.

The old girasole building had a height of about 315m, that plus the spire bring this now to 406,5m to the tip of the spire.

It is nice to have a 400m+ building growing soon here, but it´s very much cheated.

What I would like is, that this spire starts a race for the tallest in the hood here. There are still a lot of plots empty around the Hudson Yards and Javits Center. Plenty of plots with unlimited height restrictions. Bring it on.

A well designed spire could look really nice on this one, like the one on the Bank of America Tower.

Hm, I'm more interested in the giant LED screen at the base. Largest in the city?

CTBUH lists the private observatory at 982'. Therefore, this tower will likely be at least 1282'. However, the rendering depicts a new design. It's possible the tower could be shorter, or even taller than what we know of.

Indeed, let's just hope they build a higher roof than 400 meters and don't also use a spire

This, the spiral and Fosters 50HY would have created a plateau. The spire might help to break that plateau up.

it is on hold and should be moved. Like 2 WTC or BIG's Spiral, this tower needs a tenant. That being said, I expect Moinian and Tishman Speyer to find anchors sooner than 2 WTC.

I agree. In fact Morgan Stanley is looking for a new home, specifically around the HY district so I expect that one of those 3 towers: this one, the Spiral or 2 MW will move forward in the very near future.

There is a thread. The Hudson Spire thread is the correct one, the title just hasn't changed.

You can find it under the Hudson Yards tags.

looks like I was wrong in my assumption earlier this month. Caissons on site. I speculate now that they are in late talks with an unknown anchor or they are building on spec given the recent success of neighboring developments.
