Anywhere from 70-85 sounds right. A proposed tower close to this one has over 90 floors and isn't even 1,000 feet tall! It all depends. I don't really care about floor count; volume is more important.

Nice tower. It seems that this part of NY is really booming with all these new towers.

Why do you get all upset like that? Re-read my post (page 4) and I might not need to sum it up by saying again that those two buildings are good indeed, but could be more of a statement by themselves, without even talking about what impact they could have if only slightly further apart from each other. Here, Phobos put it quite well in his own way (Phobos, if I may?): Quote:
buildings", I don't know what is?

This is a great looking tower!
I'm happy to see it is not cheating on the height front with a massive antenna on the top ![]() This one IS legit!

OMG! New York is going up high! This will look great, but hey better fill up the space between Central Park and the Business District!

Fucking beautiful! But i dont like how this tower will overshadow our ESB. I like how ESB sits on its own. If its overshadowed then the skyline wont look as common... Hmmm maybe SOME sort of height restriction in NY in certain areas is good - seriously. But tower looks great. Mid-town is going crazy hu!?

^ Sorry you feel that way, but that seems to be the only area that some buildings can go as tall. There are more restrictions and NIMBYs elsewhere in NYC unfortunatelly.

Passed by the site on my way to the Rangers game in Jersey yesterday - they're just starting on the prep work, of course (it seems, at least - not sure exactly where in the schedule they are). Still, I've never seen a tower be announced and then start prep work so fast.

...Unless that 381 m tower had great cultural significance.
On the other hand that culturally significant 381m tower is in a CBD, so we can't compare it to, say building some supertall office tower beside the Eiffel Tower.

The Empire State Building may only be 1250 feet officially, but it is 1450 (442m) feet to the tip of the antenna. I don't see how anybody thinks a 1000 ft building will overshadow it. That's nonsense.
