Status of the Clise Sale?

The October deadline that the Clise family set for the sale of their downtown property (mentioned in the NYT's article below), has come and gone. I wonder if we will be hearing something soon?

Yeah, I was just wondering about that. At first it was big news because a low-density part of donwtown was actually going to be "downtown material". What happened?

If I recall correctly, the Clise family said they weren't in any rush. I think they'll announce something whenever they're ready.

Several articles, including the NYtimes one he listed mention "an october deadline." Do they mean october '08? Has the deadline passed, and they're just getting ready to make presentations?

Or maybe they'll wait when the real estate market heats up nationwide again. They probably realized if they sell their properties now they won't make as much money as they would have if they sold their properties several months ago.

Someone on here mentioned that Burj Dubai (World's tallest building) developer purchased some of Clise properties.

They didn't purchase it, they were merely one of the people bidding on the properties.

Really? Interesting. I wonder who purchased it.

Nobody, yet. Which is why SeaGuy started this thread - he wanted to know if there was any news.

I've heard that they are announcing a shortlist (top 2?) some day just before Thanksgiving... I remember that clearly; however, it was a couple months ago and I don't know if anything has changed since then.

I'm a little less sure I remember when they were going to announce the winner; I'm thinking it was to be announced just before Christmas.

I do not mind Trump building a Tower here in Seattle but Not Freak-en 12 acres. Someone Else can do a better job. Like EMAAR Properties.

According to the DJC, Embassy went through with the purchase of the Cadillac / Teatro Zinzanni block and said their first tower was going for a spring start.

Seems like a large development for them to pay $50 million. If I understood the DJC article.

We already know a lot about the proposed development based on DPD notices and news reports. A rendering is around here somewhere.

Will anyone please post DJC articles here? Not everyone is member of DJC or able to enter their website. Thanks!

Emaar put a bid on the sale? Emaar? Although that would be something if they initiated their North American market in Seattle, I'm not too sure that would be practical.

Well I'm not sure if they actually bidded on it, but there was an article a month or two ago that they were interested in it.

I think there are copyright issues in regard to reposting subscription content from sources like the Daily Journal of Commerce. Which is probably why you do not see folks doing it.
