Sorry to say I am not a huge fan. Pales in comparison with other larger buildings in North America, nothing new.

Well, no problem there, since last time I checked this building wasn't trying to do anything "new" or groundbreaking, nor will anyone else compare it with what else is being built in North America.

For a historically-inspired tower, I think it's very attractive and tasteful. I am looking forward to seeing it going up! *drools*

The earlier renders of this project seem to be much more sophisticated than the newer ones. I can't quite pinpoint what detail besides the crown has been stripped out or watered down. They really need to nip this in a bud, and reverse these decisions, or this building will end up just another condo tower.

I'm still optimisitc, but they really can't scrimp on the finishes, proportions, and embellishments.

The Uptown looks very classy. I would've liked to see a spire on top of this building.. would've made it look much more modern and classy at the same time

A spire that also took cues from this historic architectural style would look great, but this crown is also very true to that style. The best building to recently go up in Toronto also took cues from an era from Toronto's archtectural past with beautiful results: Saint Thomas:

I hope the Uptown turns out as grand.

The Saint Thomas looks much better than it did in the renders. Its a very classy tower! The area around it looks good as well.. Looks like something I'd find in Jumeirah Beach Residences (Dubai) lol .. great stuff!!

I hope it turns out as the rendering shows and that they use quality finishes.. could be quite attractive with its retro Deco look!

I like the art deco look. Very classy.
Quality finish, especially at the podium, will definitely make all the difference.
I like the camouflaged balconies as well.

This building somewhat reminds me of "those" towers (forgot the name,, sky.. something) in Mississauga located on the intersection of Hurontario and Eglinton West

There is no doubt that the art deco look is very nice.. but a spire on the top would've just made this baby a lot more sexier!

I don't like the beige part of the base, is that just going to be a large, plain wall?

I don't think that part of the building will be very visible. Isn't 'Blu' going up right next to it. Perhaps, there is an alley here, or maybe the adjacent building will be right up against this wall so you won't see it at all. Does any one know?

Yeah, on the south side it will be an alley with the podium of Crystal Blu.

Love the form, love the black accent at the base, optimistic about the pre-cast.
