Times square goes between 8th ave and 6th ave. This project is on the east side of 8th ave, putting it on the outer edge of times square on 42nd st.

Possibly. The tower steel will be vertical on the inclined section before it tops out. They are still bringing in beams & floor panels.

By the way, it really does curve on that incline, and the north face of the building actually faces slightly west but the lower part is parallel with the sidewalk. Very cool, and despite me missing the view, i am quite impressed with the design and think it will make a fine addition to the times square family of towers.

Talk about a change of opinion!

Thanks for the pics met, they're awesome. That's a really nice curve/base.

Thanks everyone!

I will get more photos next week of this, probably going to see more cladding. I will also try to get photos from 43rd st, the theater across the street & possibly the PABT. I was actually really lucky, because it stopped raining, and my primary camera isnt exactly meant to operate in rain. Thanks to the weather for not too much glare also! Sometimes you have to let things develop (no pun intended) a little to get a better perspective & in turn a more in depth opinion. I mean all you have to do is look at other buildings in the times square district & realize nothing lame will ever be approved.

Nice photos, thanks.

I like the cladding, especially in this photo:

The cladding needs to be washed. Window washers won't be assigned till much later on sadly, so we won't see the true face for a while.
