Roads in Slovakia aren't flooded. I've noticed you were asking also in Hungarian thread. If Hungary won't open its road 3 you might take this route. It's only 30km detour when compared to optimal, but currently impossible, Košice - Miskolc - Budapest. I think it shouldn't be flooded there.

according to:

http://www.stellaservis.sk/hranice.php

border crossing Barwinek-Vyšný Komárnik (PL-SK) is open only for passenger cars and border crossing Milhosť-Tornyosnémeti (SK-HU) is still closed

Motorway D1 - Dubná Skala - Turany (near Martin)

Motorway is flooded for 3 weeks.

The "Váh" is the longest river entirely in Slovakia. The Váh is 406 km long.

I can't say I really like the new Slovak signage. Weird aligned and a mix of capitals and non-capitals. To be honest, the Czech system is better imo.

I also don`t like it, the older system is better. But on the other hand, there is numbering of exits now.

older signage on D2

Slovak manufacturers of traffic signs protested against DIN few years ago because of increasing of competitive conduct from abroad. Maybe it would be same with Tern.

Between junction Vrtižer and junction Centrum it`s because of the location on the isle. Between motorway service Považská Bystrica and junction Sverepec because of mountainous terrain.

motorway on the isle

between motorway service and junction

So today is the big day for Slovakia.... Any idea what the outcome of the elections might do to highway construction?

it can significally slow down construction of missing sections of D1 between Povazska Bystrica and Presov, but also prevent serious problems with state budget and save some money to build another motorways and expressays in the future

According to Wikipedia, the current coalition of smer-SD and SNS does not get a majority in parliament anymore. That means a new coalition has to be formed, and all other parties that got seats are not considering a coalition with Fico. So, this probably means we'll see a center-right coalition of SDKÚ-DS, SaS, KDH and Most-Híd. Such a coalition would get 79 seats, thus a majority, while keeping the SNS radicals out of government.

Right?
