Do they put that sign about the Islas Malvinas (Falkland Isles) on every border?

NL-D: A1/A30 De Lutte - Gildehaus

One of the most important border crossings for truck traffic is located just east of Oldenzaal, at the A1-A30 border crossing near De Lutte/Gildehaus. At 20,000 AADT, this one isn't particularly busy, but it handles considerable truck traffic. It's the closest Dutch border from eastern Europe, and this border crossing is mainly used by Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Belorussian, Latvian and Lithuanian drivers.

1. The border. The rest area I'm on is in the Netherlands, the one on the other side is in Germany. The border runs across the median here for a few hundred meters.

2. Looking into the Netherlands from the skywalk. There are major repavement works planned to replace the last significant concrete motorway in NL.

3. Into Germany. Speed limit = 100 km/h due to pavement conditions.

4. Truck parking De Poppe. About 150 spaces, and 200 if you park illegaly on the convoy exceptionnel places, ramps and roads.

5. Into the Netherlands again.

6. Welcome in the state of Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony). KM 0,0 for the A30.

7. skyway to Germany.

8. Truck parking Bentheimerwald. This one becomes overloaded when there are driving bans for trucks in Germany, causing trucks to line up at the shoulder for over 10 kilometers.

9. The old border ramp. Now in disuse.

10. Looking into NL. This old road between the mainline lanes and the parking isn't used anymore. Maybe by German cops.

11. Wind farm in Germany.

That looks quite big. Where's a pic of the Kazakhstani truck?

Yes, I'd recommend SUV for all those Bolivian and Peruvian roads.

actually that is border crossing where are cars forbidden (if it's that in Kittsee/Kopcany where is war cemetery), so it is bad joke to present it here as some official border crossing

this is real Slovakia - Austria border crossing, first slovak building, then austrian

but it's of course closed after entering Schengen, just austrian policemen like to give fine for highway vignettes

I might be wrong, but the problem is on slovak side to open that border for cars, right?

Not really, although that is obviously the case in this example. I do belive that Spanish regional roads are better than Portuguese regional roads, where as I belive that Portuguese motorways can be better in certain cases than their Spanish counterparts. The Portuguese road shown in that picture is, especially today, an exeption rather than the rule. There are cases of the oposite though, for example the crossing between Vila Verde da Raia and Fezes de Abaixo (Vila Real-Galicia) has a motorway on the Portuuese side and a regional road on the Spanish side. I do understand why you have your idea, as before the last 5 years or so, there was an obvious diference between the road transportaiton standards of the two countries (Spain had far better roads) but recently Portugal has caught up with Spain in road transportaiton. Public transport is still far better in Spain though.
