The Turkish visa will be a sticker put on the rearside of your ID-card. I still prefer a passport.

Starting from January 1st, citizens of Serbia (excluding Kosovo), Montenegro and FYROM will travel without visas to Schengen countries, including Switzerland, Norway, Cyprus, Romania and Bulgaria. Of course UK & Ireland doesn't count here.

If anybody knows who is Eddie Izzard, just watch on Youtube part of his show regarding UK in EU. That explains everything.

I have dual nationality (UK/PT) so I only need visas to enter two European countries:
-Belarus (avaliable on arrival (PT only))
-Russia
If I didn't have a PT passport I would also need a visa fo Ukraine.

Border Serbia and Romania on the Danube.
The Iron Gate (Porţile de Fier, Ђердапска клисура) is a gorge on the Danube River.
Behind the river - Romania and European Union.
I photographed from the Serbian bank.

Beautiful. The actual border crossing is on the dam, downstream from here. The gorge itself used to be much deeper before it was built, there was even an island inhabited by turks somewhere in the area called Ada Kaleh.

I wish I had the chance to see it as it was in the past.

No, Ukraine abolished visa for all EU citizens, so british passport holders can enter without visa to UA.

Yup, did just that this summer.

No problems either - they were a bit confused as to why a Brit would be crossing on foot at Medyka, but apart from that, no problem.

In fact, I had more problems with the Polish border guards than the Ukranians!

Border of Israel and Lebanon. It's probably opened for some UN traffic only. Certainly not for any civilians and military.

On the main border crossing between Italy and Switzerland, the finance police put this kind of camera. They will register every italian license plate, so it will allow them to check if italians are illegally exporting money to Switzerland. I think that the italian government is starting to exagerate. Who wants to transfer illegally money to Switzerland can always pass through Austria or France. Furthermore will bother those who have nothing to hide, when passing the border.

I agree, it's a bit exaggerating.

I see three photos of the current Syrian president and at least two of his father (or someone else from the regime) in this photo. Scary.

That's Assad junior. His father and he have ruled Syria since 1971.
