Doesn't look like you can cross over here. How long does it usually take to cross the PL/UA border at Medyka (DK4)?

no, you cannot cross there

I have never crossed PL/UA border, but I suppose than it is several hours for cars and for trucs from a dozen or so up to few days on some occasions
I've heard that some truck drivers had to wait over 150h(!!), but the avrage would be around 55h

And in 10-20 years or so, after Ukraine will have finally joined the EU and the Schengen zone, that will be a straight-through road connection.

Very interesting images, BTW. What do those signs say, translated into English?

As a child of the late Cold War (coming of age in the late 1970s to mid 1980s), I find stuff relating to the coalescing of central and eastern Europe into the 'free' World to be fascinating - something that I never dreamed of even 20 years ago. And I am amazed at how much those central and eastern European landscapes look like the various landscapes here in the northern/midwestern USA.

When you go the east side of Slovakia, you can climb a mountain called Mt. Kremenec. On top of it is the tripoint of Slovakia, Poland and Ukraine. Here you can set a foot into Ukraine without showing your passport. Unfortunately it is not accesible from the Polish side, only the Slovakian and Ukrainian side.

That is stupidity. Why not make a straight road??

This between the lanes should be removed or marked somehow!! I can imagine everyone doing there 30km/h.. Yeah...

Ha, probably that speed limit sign board is for Ukrainian drivers If they think it is 110, then maybe they will at least drive 130.

I like the pics. This crossing looks quite chaotic to me. Am I right? Furthermore, I heard some stories of people who paid some money to get in the front of the line to be checked. Does this still happen?

It happens all the time! At least, from the Ukrainian side.

Well, probably yes

I once read an article on this:

They(mafia) pick mostly expensive cars with foreign plates and they offer to jump the queue for 300€ or so, then they lead the car driving on opposite direction's emergency lane

€300 euros is quite much. I don't think that I would do that (ok, I'm dutch)

Maybe it was 300$? Or 300PLN(€90)??

I cannot remind myself, but I agree that €300 is quite much, too much even for 6h of waiting

Isn't this sign from times when the speed limit on Polish motorways used to be 110 km/h?
